This amazing little gem of a store is tucked away neatly, just off of a red brick road, in the quaint and charming railroad town of Oakmont, Pennsylvania. Each time I pass through the doors into this store, I am pleasantly transported to another time and place. The atmosphere is downright relaxing and disarming, no matter the level of day you are having. The lighting, mellow music, friendly employees, pleasant scent of fresh cut wood and gardening materials, and even layout of the building make it hard to leave. The inventory is above moderate and I typically find exactly what I am looking for or something that else that fits the bill for my project. I also can't leave the store without supplements that are scattered throughout, such as pots for plants, garden decor, hardware for grilling, tool and storage upgrades, snacks and soda, and they even carry toys and trading cards. Ace hardware in Oakmont, Pennsylvania is also a project and time saver, due to it's convenient location for all residents in the surrounding towns. No need to trek to big box stores multiple times per project, or day for some of us! One of our favorite aspects of this location is that the employees are there to actually help us with your projects. They make sure that we have exactly what we need and will even provide technical advice most of the time. Read moreWe went to the Oakmont store to purchase a Canzo Fire Deep Chat set. We paid, and the store manager loaded my truck. Upon arrival at our house, we noticed they hadn't loaded the 2nd box containing the fire table. On Monday morning, I called the store. The store manager who loaded my truck said that he would order us another table since they had none. I waited 4 days per his instruction and called him back. He claimed it would take 2 weeks to get the fire table in, or I could pick another fire table from his store. My wife and myself had it in our mind that we wanted a match set since this is what we paid for. I called the store on a Friday, 11 days after I initially purchased the set. We got the run around yet again. A different manager stated they hadn't ordered it yet. At this point, I located a whole set at another store and purchased it. While i was there, i asked the store manager to see if a Canzo table was available at the warehouse. She showed me that 11 were available for order. At this point, my wife and I were angry. I had to drive 80 miles, pay tolls and waste my time because it couldn't be handled correctly . I returned to the Oakmont store and returned the chairs to them. Read moreMy daughter and son in law live in Oakmont. Last week I ordered 2 camp chairs online for them to be picked up curbside. My daughter is very worried about COVID-19 so curbside pick up was great. Today when she got to the store she called the number to have the order brought out and was told she had to come in and get it. My daughter explained she preferred curbside which is offered. She was refused with no explanation. So she had to go in, wait in line where 2 people behind her were maskless, give her order number and wait for someone to go get them. This same person could have just as easily brought them to the car.I could have ordered these chairs on Amazon but chose to give her local hardware store my business.If you don’t have curbside,it should not be a choice choice...
