We have lived in the area for about 10 years now and only visit this establishment a few times a year. During regular visits we purchase many different items from breads, pastries, and cakes to donuts, cookies, and even the occasional stuffed rolls. Overall, the service has always been near perfect, even when some customers are downright disrespectful to staff because they had to wait for five minutes. On the other hand. the quality and value of the products available are on a downward spiral lately.

On the most recent visit, a member of the staff "Rowan" was the most respectful and helpful gentleman. The product, a "8 Inch Strawberry Topped Vanilla Cheesecake" was a completely different story. This was the first time purchasing this product and is a perfect situation in which looks can most definitely be quite deceiving. The only fresh part of this product was the strawberry placed on top of a frozen cheesecake. The filling had ice crystalized, which is just shy of frozen solid, as if they made the crust and filling way ahead of time, froze the product, then pulled the product to place the fresh strawberries and whipped cream on top on the day they assumed they may sell it. Correct me if I am wrong here, but if you venture to purchase high cost baked goods from a "bakery", one expects all parts of the product to be fresh. Right? Thirty dollars for a frozen product from a prestigious bakery seems almost fraudulent.

Upon waiting for a slow thaw in the refrigerator for about twenty-four hours, we found the texture of the filling to just crumble when our forks would touch the product. It was so dry that even pairing it with milk in between the bites only helped clear the almost cookie crumb-like texture remnants from our mouths. The filling flavor, almost non-existent, and the pie crust was slightly less dry than the filling but again lacking any flavor.

Overall, the service was superb, but the product quality was very disappointing, so as far to have us concluding that we will not be purchasing this product, or any other cakes from this establishment going forward. Though we did not ask for any type of corrective action or refund, thirty dollars for a store frozen cake should feel embarrassing enough to the owner(s) to want to change this behavior. Again, any baked good being frozen from a bakery shop for thirty dollars is misleading and deceptive to your customers and it is our hopes that these practices...

This is one of the most iconic bakeries in Pittsburgh for a good reason! The place is huge, there is lots of variety, and all the food is high quality. It's been a while since I went to the Oakmont Bakery, so I was definitely due for a visit. Today, I tried out the razzleberry bread, Everything bread, brownie, jelly filled donut, and custard eclair.

The brownie was a little small, but absolutely delicious. Super fudgey, sweet, creamy, and just perfect. Soo much better than the stuff at the grocery store. The custard eclair had a great chocolate top, which was nice and gooey. The custard cream was very tasty but the eclair "dough" was only alright. The jelly donut was quite large and filled pretty well, had a nice dough texture, but it didn't stand out to me.

The Everything bread is amazing. It is huge and a great value. Packed with cheese, broccoli, tomato, pepper, and other veggies. Plus the bread is super soft. The Razzleberry bread is sweet and has a very soft texture. The top has a little bit of crunch and additional sweetness, too. Inside, you can find a ton of berries.

The wait is not that bad either. Plus, if you are concerned about parking, just park at the Walgreens and walk a few minutes. I have also tried the cannoli torte, chocolate covered strawberries, and a few cupcakes. Highly recommend the cannoli torte, since it is perfectly sweet, creamy, and unique! Perfect birthday cake. Strawberries are a good size and a great balance of creamy, crispy, and fruity.

Edit: Has my second visit yesterday. My new favorite sweet treat is the cherry fritter. It is massive and packed full of tasty n plump cherries without the "medicine flavor". The dough is also soft and croissant-like. Oakmonter is high quality too; dolce is a great size for 1-2 people. The cheesecake is rich and creamy, fudge is thick and perfect. Didn't like the frosting much, nor the chocolate cake, as they seemed to lack flavor. The chocolate buttercream in the long John wasn't my favorite, but the size was great, fudge top was perfect, and dough was excellent.

Overall, you definitely have to check this place out if you are in Pittsburgh. The food, specifically desserts, are out of this world and the...

My wife and I visited for the first time, excited to try the bakery since we heard from others how good it was. When we first walked in, there were no clear signs indicating how to place orders, despite following arrows pointing to the food and bakery area. We did find a ticket ordering system but we were unsure about the ticket system, so we went to the cash register to place our order since we had no idea who to go to when ordering once called with the ticket number. As we approached the counter, there were two workers at the registers with customers and after the customers left, they quickly walked away from us just as I was next in line and ready to ask about the process. After waiting for some time to try and speak to a staff member, they were no attempts to ask us if we needed help and for us ask them since they quickly walked past the counters constantly as I was trying to speak. And It doesn't end here.

Two other staff members approached the registers with customers without acknowledging us. One staff member proceeded to register an order for another customer, an elderly lady as we were standing in front of the register, without offering any assistance or guidance on the ordering process. She didn't even look at us? It felt as if we were entirely overlooked and as the eldery lady was done checking out, the girl actually walked fast away as I was going to ask her. I was trying to be respectful to the elderly lady to ask about the ordering process after she was done even if it was quite rude but couldn't get a chance to speak since the worker sped off.

Feeling frustrated and apparently invisible, we decided to leave without making a purchase at the bakery. We had driven 40 minutes based on recommendations from others about the quality of the bakery, but unfortunately, the lack of clear guidance and poor customer service left us with a negative impression. I have never had customer service like this before, it's laughable. I will not come back here ever again after...

Always a treat! This time not too long a wait and I found a parking spot in front! Even though there are alot if people waiting, the system/ line goes pretty quickly. Update: was here in june.2020 to order a birthday cake for my daughter. Found two pics from their website and brought them on my phone to show when I ordered in person..since it would have been hard to describe online ( and nowhere to upload more than one pic on the order form) Person saw the pics..because I liked the one with full coverage of flowers but liked the color combo of other cake..minus the Macron cookies. ..I asked how much which he never told me till he rang me up for $63. So I paid that which was fine. When I went the next weekend to pick up..what a disappointment when I fully opened up the box at home as it was taped up so not to smash the flowers. Flowers only covered a portion the cake and didnt cascade down side as requested and shown in pic. Plus it seems I paid $28 for the cake with an extra $30 for the decoration..which would have been fine except I dont think I was given what I paid for. Not sure what else I could have done to ensure what I got was what I paid for? Maybe next time I need to print up a hard copy of what I want and take them to accompany my order? I went online to " tell them my experience " but again..nowhere to upload pictures and there was an extremely small limit of words on the comment form...I still have not gotten a response and that was a few weeks ago...first 2 full coverage pics were the ones I showed to the guy taking my order. Other one you can see..its not fully covered in flowers and cascading down the side as I had requested and paid for...
