This is one of the most iconic bakeries in Pittsburgh for a good reason! The place is huge, there is lots of variety, and all the food is high quality. It's been a while since I went to the Oakmont Bakery, so I was definitely due for a visit. Today, I tried out the razzleberry bread, Everything bread, brownie, jelly filled donut, and custard eclair. The brownie was a little small, but absolutely delicious. Super fudgey, sweet, creamy, and just perfect. Soo much better than the stuff at the grocery store. The custard eclair had a great chocolate top, which was nice and gooey. The custard cream was very tasty but the eclair "dough" was only alright. The jelly donut was quite large and filled pretty well, had a nice dough texture, but it didn't stand out to me. The Everything bread is amazing. It is huge and a great value. Packed with cheese, broccoli, tomato, pepper, and other veggies. Plus the bread is super soft. The Razzleberry bread is sweet and has a very soft texture. The top has a little bit of crunch and additional sweetness, too. Inside, you can find a ton of berries. The wait is not that bad either. Plus, if you are concerned about parking, just park at the Walgreens and walk a few minutes. I have also tried the cannoli torte, chocolate covered strawberries, and a few cupcakes. Highly recommend the cannoli torte, since it is perfectly sweet, creamy, and unique! Perfect birthday cake. Strawberries are a good size and a great balance of creamy, crispy, and fruity. Edit: Has my second visit yesterday. My new favorite sweet treat is the cherry fritter. It is massive and packed full of tasty n plump cherries without the "medicine flavor". The dough is also soft and croissant-like. Oakmonter is high quality too; dolce is a great size for 1-2 people. The cheesecake is rich and creamy, fudge is thick and perfect. Didn't like the frosting much, nor the chocolate cake, as they seemed to lack flavor. The chocolate buttercream in the long John wasn't my favorite, but the size was great, fudge top was perfect, and dough was excellent. Overall, you definitely have to check this place out if you are in Pittsburgh. The food, specifically desserts, are out of this world and the prices+portions are fair.

Always a treat! This time not too long a wait and I found a parking spot in front! Even though there are alot if people waiting, the system/ line goes pretty quickly. Update: was here in june.2020 to order a birthday cake for my daughter. Found two pics from their website and brought them on my phone to show when I ordered in person..since it would have been hard to describe online ( and nowhere to upload more than one pic on the order form) Person saw the pics..because I liked the one with full coverage of flowers but liked the color combo of other cake..minus the Macron cookies. ..I asked how much which he never told me till he rang me up for $63. So I paid that which was fine. When I went the next weekend to pick up..what a disappointment when I fully opened up the box at home as it was taped up so not to smash the flowers. Flowers only covered a portion the cake and didnt cascade down side as requested and shown in pic. Plus it seems I paid $28 for the cake with an extra $30 for the decoration..which would have been fine except I dont think I was given what I paid for. Not sure what else I could have done to ensure what I got was what I paid for? Maybe next time I need to print up a hard copy of what I want and take them to accompany my order? I went online to " tell them my experience " but again..nowhere to upload pictures and there was an extremely small limit of words on the comment form...I still have not gotten a response and that was a few weeks ago...first 2 full coverage pics were the ones I showed to the guy taking my order. Other one you can see..its not fully covered in flowers and cascading down the side as I had requested and paid for...

This bakery is like no other bakery I have ever been to. Everything I have brought home from here has been amazing but honestly it is overwhelming going in here! Every time I get here, no matter when it is, it is PACKED. They are pretty efficient at getting the line moving in a relatively quick amount of time considering how many people are there at one time, but if you are in a hurry, and want something from behind the counter you won't be able to get it fast. The nice thing is you can always go in and grab something off of the racks that they always stock with grab and go items, obviously it just isn't going to be the vast variety of things to choose from behind the counter. They also have a cafe that you can order soups, salads and sandwiches from, as well as some frozen custards too. So many options here it's truly amazing how this business operates. It's also pretty cool inside because they have screens around that show their staff making the products which is pretty neat. All of the staff here are amazing...very friendly and knowledgeable, and I have yet to encounter anyone who shows frustration or stress.(I honestly don't know what their secret is 🤨) I give them a huge pat on the back because I don't know how they handle being so busy every single day like that and always being so great! Anyway, if you haven't been here, you need to make the time to try this place out!! You will not be disappointed. Just make sure you prepare yourself ahead of time for the line and be patient 🙂 In the picture is a grab and go cake that they wrote on for me and a banana cream pie

A Pittsburgh institution! I've been to the original Oakmont Bakery a few times before, yet this was my first visit to the newer, larger place. It was very impressive, not small and cozy like some of the little family owned bakeries or local chains, but absolutely worth checking out. While I wouldn't normally visit on a busy weekend day, I was in the area and had to stop. And they absolutely have a system down to handle any size crowd! Simply grab a number and they have a number of employees lined up to help you with any size order. I wanted a drink and a few small bakery items, so after scoping out the offerings I headed to the cafe area to order a drink. The self serve computers made it easy to order any of the wide variety of drinks, I chose a s'mores latte. While waiting for it to be made I headed back up to the counters, grabbed a ticket, and eyed an eclair and small chocolate cream pie. Yes, this is a great place for us chocoholics! After no more than a few moments it was already my turn, and I was able to pick my items up. The exterior and interior are very nice and modern, and the bakery is easily accessible in the middle of Oakmont and near the bridge. Parking is limited in front of the building, but plenty more is available behind it across from the park. The large variety of cakes, bagels, cookies, donuts, and seasonal items ensure there is something for everyone. And the large number of workers up front and in the back ensure they don't run out and you can be served quickly. Thanks!

This place has the most amazing service and amazing baked goods! Everything from breads to cupcakes, cookie cakes, and Mardi Gras cakes that were wonderful to celebrate with and they had a variety of flavors. TCZhey have regular cakes that look absolutely divine! Lady locks, cannolis, tons of cookies, you name it you can find it here! We walked out of there almost $100 less, but we haven't eaten a thing yet that wasn't absolutely phenomenal! By the way, the paczkis are absolutely amazing! We were going to eat in the cafe but we went on Fat Tuesday so it was just wild and crazy. There is parking in the back and the front, but let me tell you on Fat Tuesday it was packed and you could barely find parking. That's how great this place is. I would highly recommend ordering your cakes for your loved ones or any type of goodies or just stopping in and seeing what's in the counters. The young lady who waited on us offered for someone to help us take our two very large bags out to our car for us. My husband and I are both disabled so this was absolutely wonderful! The young man helped us to the car and then helped my husband put my wheelchair in the back. Absolutely phenomenal service! We were kind of sad that it's 2 hours and 20 minutes away from us. However, that is actually a good thing because I think my butt would be about 500 times bigger! Lol highly recommended for both service and excellent choices of food Karma suites.

Oakmont bakery was an experience. You walk in and can grab a number that will eventually be called for ordering. The inside is huge with a lot of seating and has a very large variety to choose from. It was honestly a bit overwhelming. They have tons of cookies, cakes, pastries, breads, and even hot foods! As someone who had never been here I grabbed a number right away not knowing how intense the selection process would be or how quickly the numbers would be called. I wasn’t ready by the time they called my number so I looked around a bit longer and then grabbed another number when I was closer to deciding. We ended up choosing the almond cupcake and cinnamon roll with maple icing and nuts on top. I’d never seen either of these before so I figured why not! The cinnamon roll was amazing! The almond cupcake had a beautifully made sponge but it had absolutely no flavor which was a big disappointment. As I was leaving I saw they also had fries and I wish I had a chance to try them because they looked fantastic. Although I was disappointed with the cupcake I’d definitely come back and give one of the many other options a try! Also the parking is kind of a mess. The lot is really small and the spaces are pretty tight and turning to get out is a little annoying as well but at least there is some parking!
