Moonbeam Café — Restaurant in Oakmont

One of my favorite cafes in Allegheny county! This business came under new ownership recently, and now looks a tad bit different on the inside. There are far more plants now, a lot of them for sale, and the seating has more options. I’ve had the luxury of coming here twice since this (photos from both of those trips) and cannot recommend enough the matcha lattes! They make their lavender syrup in house and it taste just like you took a bite out of a lavender bush (but in a GOOD way🪻) and the earthy fresh notes of the matcha entangle with that perfectly. Their rotating toast selection also provides a great opportunity to try something new! My last visit I got their avocado toast with micro greens and it was quite refreshing and zesty!

The staff are super nice, the lady who was working the cafe even remembered my name which I felt was like, super nice and sweet. The overall vibe of the place is calm and relaxing, a great place to grab a drink and chat with friends on a stormy afternoon! Highly...

Moonbeam Cafe is such a gem to the Oakmont & Pittsburgh area. Nina & her baristas serve the most delicious coffees & each month, they feature new coffee creations & exciting flavors. These photos are of their churro-inspired latte special for July - it’s almost too pretty to drink! I’ve always appreciated the consistency & presentation of my coffee, but there is even more to love! You can shop for mindfully sourced jewelry, bath scrubs, handmade cards, & so much more! Moonbeam also host markets on Saturdays where small businesses can set up shop & sell their products. I’m so thankful for the environment Nina has created in her shop. No matter what kind of day I’m having, I always leave Moonbeam with coffee in hand, feeling confident that I can accomplish the rest of my day! I used to love coming to this coffee shop, but I’m really disappointed with the transition to new ownership. The staff just doesn’t feel as welcoming as before — they don’t seem as personable or friendly. It’s a noticeable shift, and it’s really affected the overall vibe. Unfortunately, the coffee is no better. I’ve tried several specialty drinks, and each one has been a letdown. The chai tea latte, in particular, was terrible. Chai lattes are usually pretty consistent in taste, no matter where you go, but this one didn’t resemble a chai latte at all. It was off, and I’ve overheard other customers saying the same thing.
