Still one of the worst delis of all the grocery stores in North county! one of the problems over the last 10 years is the only have one person working in the deli and when you usually get there they're always in the back. When purchasing deli meats I would make sure the piece of meat they're slicing off of is fairly fresh many times I have purchased ham turkey or other types of meat within two days you are already slimy meat, Also if you like fried chicken I would recommend that you have them drop the chicken while you're shopping and come back pick it up fresh and hot. They don't sell a lot of fried chicken at that store and the chicken sits there for four or five hours and then they mix the fresh chicken with the old chicken also the oil is not changed regularly in the chicken by the time you get it home you have so much grease at the bottom of the box Bad Fried Chicken. I would recommend that you go down the street to Albertsons because they do at least 20 times the volume if not more of chicken per day! This store is always understaffed and always has large lines although they are getting better at calling for additional cashiers when the lines get very backed up. With another couple more new grocery chains planned for the area it's going to be very hard for this store to succeed...
Read moreI only come here because it's the only place that I know of close to home that sells the 32 lacks of energy drinks. Which feels like a trap because the lines are backed up. Usually I try to be patient, but today I have to speak up because their receipts don't give any direction on how to fill out survey to express any concerns (or praises). I usually go grab the 32 pack and check out, so I don't grab a cart. There was only 1 express (15 or less line open) and the next person was standing like 10ft back, which pushed the line onto the aisle, so that's where I went. When I finally got up to see the other registers, two other guys were standing there to get in line, I said something and they seemed to play stupid. So, I let them go ahead. Sure enough another line opened and they went over and the girl behind me went over. All 3 of them got out before I did. They don't have self check out and this is exactly why I like self check out at other stores. I don't get paid to stand around and wait. I usually get out faster with...
Read moreWell, the expansion hasn't done much to improve the attitudes of the front-end staff, as we'd hoped. And I can't understand why their fruits and veggies seem to get on the shelves much older than other stores nearby. Plus the meat department is really only a bit better - and cleaner - looking, after the remodel. We 1st were exposed to Stater Bros. at their fabulous Big Bear store; we go there different seasons from time to time for tall trees and fresh air, and stay just a block away. That store always has really fresh produce, but it's farther from urban distribution centers.
Previous comment - It is improving with expansion, I hope. Fruits & veggies from here die too quickly. Front-end managers can be real jerks. They once refused to give our money back on a ham that was all fat "because we ate it". We picked off the 1/2 serving of meat for our kid! The rest...
