I have been going to this salon for about two years on and off, but consistently over the past year. I usually see Bella, who is a sweetheart and always does a great job. Since she has been out, I have been seeing Julie, who did a great job too. But Im disappointed with Julie after my visit today.
Recently, I developed a reaction to acrylic, which the salon explained can happen due to repeated exposure. The manager and receptionist were very understanding and suggested that I try poly gel instead. I appreciated that solution and planned to move forward with it.
At my next appointment, which was last Thursday, I came in expecting to get poly gel. Instead, Julie recommended that I try acrylic again. She said she would be careful and use less product, and that it might help with the reaction. I trusted her as the professional, even though I had concerns. During that appointment, she filed very aggressively and cut my cuticles, which is something that happens often with her. I have let it go in the past, but this time she cut too deep and I bled. She apologized, but I believe the irritation contributed to another allergic reaction. My fingers were red, swollen, and sore afterward.
I called the salon, and once again the manager and receptionist were kind and responsive. They offered to redo my nails with poly gel at no charge. I was not expecting that, and I really appreciated the gesture. I just wanted to move forward with something that would work better for me.
I came back today for the redo, and I left feeling disappointed and frustrated. Julie did not greet me when I walked in and did not say goodbye or wish me a good day when I left. That may seem small, but when you are a regular client, those basic things matter. Her attitude was cold the entire time. What upset me the most was how rough and careless she was during the removal process. Instead of soaking the acrylic off like it should be done, she used a fake nail to dig underneath a couple of my natural nails and pry the acrylic off. It was extremely painful. I pulled my hand back from the pain, and she did not apologize. I honestly feel like she was doing it on purpose which really bother me. She was clearly not giving good energy. I donât know if she was upset because I called in, but I never put the blame on her. I was very amicable about it. But again, I wouldâve expected her to be a little more gentle. My fingers are still recovering. They are dry and peeling, but she continued to file aggressively without any consideration for that. She also did not offer for me to wash my hands after removing the acrylic, which I think should be standard care, especially due to the allergy.
I come every two weeks and spend hundreds of dollars at this salon. I am a loyal and consistent client. It is incredibly upsetting to spend your money somewhere and be treated like you do not matter. My issue is specifically with Julie. Donât get me wrong she does nails very well. I was always impressed with them with the exception of like I said the cutting my cuticle too much and being a little too rough with filing but after this situation, Iâm just done.
Bella has always been amazing, and the front desk and management, especially Vivian have always treated me kindly and professionally. I hate to leave this review, but after today, I can no longer continue coming back. I am disappointed.
Update: Not even a week later, my nails are crackingâŠ...
Read moreI have been looking for a good nail place for a while. I was online, looking at reviews, and i stumbled across a fairly negative one. But in the end of the review, they mentioned they usually go to Golden Nails (& Spa | Best Nail Salon In Oklahoma) and always receive 10/10 service. So I made an online appointment. pedicure - 2:30, I walked in on time, and picked my nail color. The girl at the front desk was super sweet and friendly, she even recommended some new nail colors they had gotten. I was told there would be a little bit of a wait, but I anticipated that since it already looked busy inside and I made an appointment with âanyoneâ. 2:37, I was seated in a pedicure chair. The girl from the front desk was helping me get situated and comfortable in the water. She also informed me about a 20% discount for new members who sign up online, which I wouldnât have even noticed if she didnât say anything! Amazing! 2:45, I received service from a very sweet lady who quickly got to work on my (store special) coffee pedicure. When she came over, she started my massage chair for me & adjusted it (so thoughtful and helpful!!), as well as brought my arm rest down. My massage was greeeeat and the white gel polish I got, looks great, too! Manicure - I asked for coffin shape, itâs a bit uneven/inconsistent across all nails. Only had one incident where she knicked some skin on my pinky with her drill. We ran into some issues⊠my last nail set was acrylic, instead of builder⊠which is what I asked my last nail tech for (different salon). Not her fault, though. She didnât offer to remove, but put the builder over it, which works, but isnât ideal. however the treatment was still sweet and I have a set of nails I love!
Overall, great service and treatment! The place was clean, and I saw the receptionists cleaning almost the entire time I was there. The service was thoughtful, down to the DETAIL. Unfortunately, at the end of my service, there was a different receptionist and she didnât offer the same 20% discount for the website sign up, and I forgot to ask. Maybe I will be able to use it next time. Natalie gives a great massage, and...
Read moreThis was my second time going and will be my last. Had the worst experience in the 20+ years Iâve been getting my nails done. I started with a pedicure and instead of removing the polish with remover she grinded the regular polish off, I noticed when I got home that there was polish all over my skin. I then got a fresh set of dip, I should have stopped there. I mentioned that my natural nail was long and would like cut. Little did I know she was going to cute the entire nail dangerously down to the tip of my finger. I said something and she didnât care. So I then requested to get a tip put on but wanted them somewhat short, not as short as what she cut. She again didnât listen and even saying multiple times I wanted them shorter she completely ignored me. She loved using the grinder and completely shaved my natural nail so thin, I could feel it burning in multiple places. She was rude and didnât listen to anything I was asking for. I should have had her stop and left. But I felt stuck with unfinished nails with tips. There were a few nails she dipped 5 times! I asked to make them not as thick and again she didnât listen. I just thought hurry up and get me out of here before she destroys my nails more. I went to pay and there was an additional $15 charge, I asked and the lady who checks out said $5 for tips $5 for cuticle. And said where is the extra $5 coming from, she couldnât answer that question. I just paid and left. My natural nails are completely destroyed and hurt. I would not recommend going there, if you do donât have the tech Jessica do your nails, she was rude, looked pissed off the whole time, didnât listen...
