I’m visiting this beautiful town with my family and was excited to stop by and grab some spirits. Unfortunately, my experience was soured by the attitude I received from Amy at the cashier register. When I went to pay, she asked for my birthdate instead of my ID. I didn’t quite hear her at first, and when I asked her to repeat the question, she responded with an incredibly condescending tone, almost as if I were a child.
I tried to remain calm and mentioned how wonderful the rest of my visit had been, but Amy snapped back, stating, “It’s company policy,” as if I had said something wrong. I told her that I understood, but typically they just ask for an ID, and that the attitude was unnecessary. At that point, she rolled her eyes and hurried me to pay.
I don’t usually complain, but I felt that the level of rudeness was uncalled for. When I asked to speak to a manager, Amy was dismissive, saying her manager was “all the way back there.” I understand everyone has tough days, but if that was the case, maybe staying home would’ve been a better option rather than mistreating customers.
It’s a shame because this store had so much potential, but I won’t forget the way I was treated.we will not go back for the rest of our week here again for sure. Our business will be given to...
Read moreNot acceptable this business is allowed to stay open in town while our local Old Lyme schools and restaurants are closed in that do no NOT follow the CT Governor's required safe work rules for customers to wear masks. Chatting with the AGM who is misguided and kept referring his actions are driven by his corporate office who shared wearing masks is not required - but optional - and he is not going to police it. Completely wrong. Every other business has signs up outside the door...masks are required. The 1st sentence in the Governor's safe work rules under wearing face masks states: "Require all customers to wear cloth face coverings while on premises. Nothing in these rules shall prohibit a business from issuing face coverings to customers or other visitors upon or prior to entry." What was particularly noteworthy was the level of indifference and rude behavior of the AGM and staff as I respectfully brought this up (again) and their sediment is all of this Covid stuff...
Read moreDisappointed beyond with the customer service. I am a year round long time customer and part of their valued customer program that gives incentives for dollars spent. Over holidays I spent enough to qualify for a coupon for a complimentary item from a short list. I chose a cheddar cheese from the list. No brand or detail included. I was told I couldn't use it for the purchase that day so I came back 3 days later to grab something so I could get my complimentary cheese. when I entered I told them I came just to get my cheese and they told me the cheese in the case isn't part of the promotion and they don't have any on hand. I explained that I came in special just to get that and was told sorry, no cheese for you. would it have been a big deal to honor the coupon and give me the cheese they had on hand ? Bad customer service. Especially for a steady long...
