First off, I want to say that I love going to this store! The staff are always friendly and helpful and you guys get some unique pieces in the store. That being said, I have to complain about the prices. The prices are way too high!!! I 100% agree with other people complaining about this. I would love to buy a large mirror there now but it's $400!!! I could go out and buy a brand new mirror for this price. Many, many things just seems so overpriced. I really think you guys could turn more profit and get more rotation in the store if you lower your prices. I hope you guys truly think about lowering your prices. These are not prices suited for many. Times are hard now for many people and this should be a place where they can find something at a reasonable price.
Edited after owner's response: Some of the prices are decent but some are high. I'm happy to support Habitat but I just think about other people who may be struggling and need cheaper furniture. The $400 mirror sat there for a long time and didn't sell at that price. I was able to go there yesterday and pick it up for $300 (large used mirror with dents on the sides). I am grateful for the people that work there and that they are willing to go down on prices for things that haven't sold in awhile. The staff are all very friendly. So if there is something you want to buy there that hasn't sold in awhile, feel free to ask if they can come down on...
Read moreTheir prices are up to retail on most items and they have discontinued their discounts on items that have been sitting on the shelves for months. They also will no longer give a refund if you take something home and it doesn't work.......and all of their items were given to them for free. Their store manager is the only unfriendly person in the store....a shame--you would think the manager would be the nicest person in the store. The volunteers are all great. When you donate, they pick through every little thing you bring in to donate. You can have 10 great items with high resale, but they will deny that one thing that they don't think they can sell. I will go back to New Life Thrift and other charity shops that have lower prices and I will shop the internet and local hardware stores for the lighting and hardware I need. Then if I get something that won't work, I can take it back and get a refund. Such a shame, because this used to be a great place to shop before...
Read moreOkay so here is my question. The restore on Emmett Street in Omaha. What kind of goddamn business plan do these people have? They have a product that has been sitting on their shelf for 8 months. At $99.99. I offered $15 as I was a fair price for how long it been sitting and the fact that nobody would want the item. The sales lady then tells me that she could get more than $10 for turning it in for scrap which is also inconceivably incorrect as they'd probably get $8 to $10 given its weight. But by the time you paid an employee to drive it to the scrap yard downtown pay them about $14 to $20 so you just lost $4 to $10, whereas I give them $15 they make money so I'm very confused by their business model right now. Bunch of Jackwangs, apparently The business model isn't to make a profit. That's a solid business plan they have right there. Good thing they have a bunch of business...
