I love Ulta, and I love the salon at Ulta. I've had many facials done there, and enjoyed each one. I have always had my hair done elsewhere, and loved going where I went. A few months ago I decided to give the Ulta salon a try for a color. I wanted a big change, and gave Blair a general idea of what I wanted. She took my idea and transformed it into a beautiful and unique color that I am SO incredibly in love with. This girl clearly knows what she is doing and has incredible talent. She also has great product knowledge, and has helped me out of situations where I needed guidance on how to make my hair feel healthy again. That being said; I have also had the pleasure of previously working with Blair. I have seen firsthand how professionally she has dealt with a client who wasn't 100% satisfied with their service. She is always proactive and works with not just her own clients to come up with a solution. It is very rare that someone isn't satisfied with Blairs work, but she wants to make things right. This is because she is great at her job. She has many roles and she does them all incredibly well. She is also great with children's cuts. My son LOVES spending time in her chair. He's five. He moves around a lot. He always leaves looking great because Blair is a magician who can give a straight lineup to a wiggly kindergartener. To make a long story short, Blair and her salon team are a group of wonderful individuals working at a well-run salon. I recommend the salon services as well as the benefit brow bar to all of my friends. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Blair or her salon. Read moreChantelle - who I believe is a manager at the store - gave the worst customer experience. She was not helpful at all. I asked her where a Peppermint foot scrub was located and she rudely said it is a promotional item and they were all out of it. I then asked her about the Ulta brand Crackling body moose and what it does. She said she had no idea. You would think she would offer to open one up to show me. (I was wondering because Bath and Body works has a similar product - and believe it or not there was an open product there and the woman showed me how it worked and even put it on my hand). Then they had an offer buy 2 get 2 Ulta skin products. There was a sign that said a free tote was included. After 10 mins of trying to choose a smell I liked (as most of them were sold out), I finally picked an okay smell that I wasn't fond of but figured 2 items were free and I would receive a tote. When I went to check out, I asked the girl about the tote because she didn't mention one or give me one. She checked with Chantelle after I asked about it and once again was extremely rude and said - we don't have those they never came in with the shipment. I am so done with this place. Chantelle's attitute was the icing on the cake for me. Also, they are always out of products I want. Thankfully Target is right next door and when using my Target debit card I get 5% back. Read moreI really like this store and prefer it to Sephora, but I've had some frustrating experiences with Curbside Pickup recently. On my first attempt, I waited over 10 minutes in the curbside stall, I didn’t check in ahead of time, as it was my first time using the service, so I didn’t realize it was an option to Check in ahead of time. I ended up going inside when no one came out and had to wait in line behind five people, even though my order was already prepared and paid for.
Determined to improve my experience, I tried again recently. This time, I checked in 15 minutes before arriving to give the team a heads-up. However, when I arrived, I waited another 10 minutes before calling the store. I was told someone would be right out, but it took another 5 minutes for my order to be brought out. Going in was not an option this time as I had my infant with me and was sick, so I didn’t want to get anyone else sick.
I later spoke with the manager to see if I was missing something. She explained that their system is unreliable, sometimes holding orders and then releasing many at once. She recommended calling the store ahead of time when you are on your way and then again upon arrival to avoid further delays.
While I appreciate the manager’s honesty and suggestion, I feel like the curbside process should be more streamlined to avoid these extra steps. Hopefully, the system can be improved so that it works as intended...
