BUYER BEWARE. The owner falsely advertises that if you are not satisfied you can get a refund. The owner, Josh Anderson, is very dishonest! His responses to other bad reviews are NOT TRUE.
Josh, your website clearly states, "Better Sleep GUARANTEED Or Your Money Back,” “Sleep Tight. 101 nights. Risk-free.” and “Satisfied or Refunded.” You have refused to honor what you advertise. The FTC Act, Section 5, prohibits unfair or deceptive advertising in any medium. That is, advertising must tell the truth and not mislead consumers. I will be filing a complaint with the FTC.
When my 82-year-old mother purchased a $2,400 Puffy mattress (before taxes) from you, you did not tell her that she could not get a refund or that the trial period was not 101 days. Also, part of the ink on her receipt was conveniently smeared off when you gave it to her. You took advantage of an 82-year-old woman and have been abusing her by not honoring what you advertise. The reason for so many phone calls are because either no one answered, said they would call right back and never did, or said they were the answering service. 90% of the phone calls to your store were by my mother so I find it comical you feel that she was bullying you. She would not have had to call so many times if you would have honored what you advertise. $2,400 is a large amount of money for a mattress and then to find out the company won’t honor what they advertise is very disheartening.
When I was in your Leeds store with my mother, I asked to speak to the owner and asked who the owner is. You would not tell me who the owner is. While I was standing in front of you, I looked on your company’s website and there was a picture of you. Your website stated that your name is Josh Anderson and that you are the owner. I then asked you what your name is, and you said Josh Anderson. After telling you that I was looking at your website and it stated you are the owner, you still denied that you are the owner. You flat out lied to my face. I remember asking you “Why are you lying about being the owner?”. You did not answer. All of this happened while your child was in the store hearing you say you aren’t the owner. Also, saying that an 82-year-old great grandmother and a 50+ year old woman were bullying you is laughable.
My mother opened the first charge dispute after leaving the Leeds store. It was ruled in your favor because you lied and made false claims in your letter to the finance company. So, my mother opened a second charge dispute.
We went to your store one last time per the advice of the finance company to try to work it out with Alabama Beds. Leigh was there and was very personable. She told my mother that she wanted her to be happy and encouraged my mother to try other mattresses in your store. Leigh said that my mother could still exchange her mattress. Leigh directed my mother to try the newest Puffy mattress. After realizing that my mother liked that mattress, I asked Leigh what the difference in price is. Leigh said that it would be an even exchange. My mother NEVER refused to pay for the more expensive mattress. You were having a sale at that time. When my mother paid $2,400 for her mattress, you were not having a sale.
Leigh said that before she could order the new mattress that my mother needed to drop the second charge dispute. We told Leigh we would drop it and she said she would order the mattress the next week. That was 6 weeks ago. Apparently, it was a ploy to get my mother to drop the chargeback especially since you admitted that the mattress was already in stock.
We did not select a mattress and then open a charge dispute. That is false! My mother selected a new mattress and then canceled the second charge dispute. Also, there were no discussions about 60% off an upgrade. I have no idea what you are talking about. You never ordered an exchange mattress before the first charge dispute because my mother did not pick one out...

After substantial purchase, I was never given a receipt. Multiple calls about delivery went unanswered. Finally delivery day with nice guy but then he left without taking old bedding -which was promised to me. Called back within minutes and they said they’d send someone. Multiple calls and 3 weeks later, they sent 2 nice kids to pick up the soaking wet mattress that had been on porch since delivery day. I was never given a receipt, didn’t sign for delivery, and then noticed no labels on this expensive mattress. Finally called manufacturer in NY & they asked me to provide them with serial number to actually confirm that I had been given the mattress I bought. It was ..but what happened to the identifying labels, paperwork , receipt, etc? Once I called the woman I dealt with and she pretended to be someone else! She told me she was at their other location in Oneonta but when I called there they said she wasn’t there and wasn’t expected. On a side note, I actually was going to buy from that (Oneonta)office instead of Trussville but was quoted couple thousand more for exact same product than Trussville- never an explanation for that! I requested receipt and purchase paperwork from another employee and he assured me he’d email it but never did. Now I see that location has closed permanently and I can see why. Wow, was worst experience on such a large purchase I’ve ever made! I only went there because they were only AL dealer for the the mattress brand I researched and decided to buy. Such an unfortunate way to be treated when I called knowing exactly what I was looking to buy and bought immediately over the phone ; they didn’t have to bother with trying to “sell” me anything. I’ve told Everyone I encounter what happened to me & will continue to do so....

So, unless you start honoring what you say, (especially to 82 year old women), then there may be people coming in to buy mattresses for the soul purpose of catching you in fraudulent activity. You know wearing microphone and surveillance equipment in the off chance that you lie and putting you out of business for real. So do the right thing. Its a lot easier to do the right thing than having to make sure all previous emails and phone correspondence doesn't have anything that would incriminate you.
