To say I’m mad…would be an understatement. I go in, order our food for take out, everything is fine (normally is perfect) I ordered a •Italian Cheesesteak, with a side salad-no onions,(instead of fries) I was charged extra for changing it. Which is fine. •Hamburger Steak-WITH EVERYTHING, fries and side salad-no onion.
Get home and we’re starving, I’m excited because Giovanni’s has been my new favorite to do once a week. Food has never been bad. In past I ordered Manicotti. The sauce is good, not my favorite but I don’t dislike it enough to not order manicotti. I LOVE their side salads. Always is so simple, but they’re amazing!
TONIGHT THOUGH, Makes me want to request my $30 back. Hamburger steak is DRY. it has ZERO gravy which is odd, no onion or mushrooms (like it states-yes, I said I want EVERYTHING on the hamburger steak, just no ONION in the SALAD. I kindly made that clear)
My Italian cheesesteak tastes like grounded up wet dog food with a bunch of salt. NO onions anywhere. I warmed it up a little bit when I got home with it and I was like “SURELY, that’s not my food that smells like that…” It was, and taste as HORRIBLE AS IT SMELT. The sandwich is cut up in the picture, because who can pick it up and eat it when the cheese is thrown over, through the middle of the sandwich (it’s laid on the side-middle ACROSS to the other side -of the middle of the bun) it doesn’t lay with the meat? Smh 🤦🏼♀️
I DONT KNOW WHO missed the mark tonight but I chose you over KFC, and I’m embarrassed to admit that I know my KFC would have been better.
I wasted $30, for a salad and breadsticks. I’m sad about this. I have worked in restaurants and served in them, I know it’s hard work. The ladies are always great but something is off with...
Read morePLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Before you read this, understand that Giovannis Pizza is an "Italian" restaurant. That is, Giovannis attempts to create Italian dishes with very little success. Because this restaurant is a mere hole in the wall (but not the good kind), please set your standards low before you walk in. The first time I went to Giovannis I ordered chicken parmesan and was less than enthused. It surmounts to pile of oily spaghetti noodles with, what appears to be, a frozen and lightly breaded chicken patty smothered in one of the most bland marinara sauces I've ever tasted. I decided to try Giovannis again and this time order something different. This experience is what led me to write this review. I ordered the shrimp scampi, but can assure you what I received is far from any shrimp scampi I've ever eaten. Rather, it was large amount of spaghetti noodles engrossed in a POOL of juice (likely water, olive oil, etc.) surmounted with 6 jumbo shrimp and completely covered with a disgusting amount of garlic and other unidentifiable seasonings. What this equated to was an inedible garlic-y, soupy mess. I will not go into detail about the side salad and breadsticks that the dinner comes with, as the quality of them was just the same as the shrimp scampi. To top off my horrible experience, the service my family and I received there was very subpar. There were 16 people in the restaurant when we dined there (we were 5 of them) and we never received a refill nor were we checked on...
Read moreI wish I could say good things about this place, but I can't. I drove over 40 mins to try this place. I won't make that drive again. Walk through the door and a 9 or 10 year old little boy seated us. Waitress came over and took our order and once the food came out she never graced us with her presence again. No refills, no extra napkins, nothing. I had to ask the other waitress for napkins. The food came out quick so that was good...actually..that was really the only good thing about our visit. Ordered some mozzarella sticks with marinara. (Not sure what the marinara was because it looked NOTHING like marinara) Ordered a hot ham and cheese. What a waste of money. It was one slice of Ham cut into 4 pieces..(stacked on top of each other shoved toward the edge of the bread) with American cheese! American! Not mozzarella or provolone, American. I mean who makes a hot ham and cheese at an Italian restaurant with American cheese? This place does that's who... The pizza I ordered was edible...bland but edible. This place has soooooo much potential. You are operating under the name Giovanni's, but tastes NOTHING LIKE GIOVANNI'S!! Giovanni's in Greenup, Flatwoods, and Russell KY have spoiled me. I'll keep searching and going to every Giovanni's I find until I find one that tastes like it's supposed to. I won't eat here again, but dont let me deter you from checking it out. I too checked the reviews before going and was forewarned, but had to try it...
