My favorite grocery store in California #groceryoutlet #groceryhaul #shoppingspree #benandjerrys #groceryshopping #inflation

My wife and I LOVE this grocery store. When we first moved to California, we were like “shoot, this food is going to be pricey.” Then we found Grocery Outlet. This has literally made all the difference in the works to our grocery budget and has allowed us to get many food we wouldn’t other wise be able to get. Their NOSH (healthier) food isle always has something different and we can get fantastic deal and prices on so many different food items. You learn what you like and down, and we are always trying new things. They used to send out coupons on the mail, but we haven’t seen one in awhile which is a little bit of a bummer. Start shopping here, and your bank account will thank you.

I'm happy with the majority of the products that I get here. I'm always trying different brands and after a while, you learn which items to put in your cart and which items not to. But for the most part you can save a lot of money here, especially on alcohol. This is the display of Grape-Nuts cereal. I'm not sure what human can chew 4 lb of grape nuts, but if you were wondering, like I was, what 220 boxes of grape nuts weigh, it's 880 lb for this display.

Ok first of all, I mainly stopped in here because I happened to be in the plaza as I needed to stop by the pet store next door to get some small crickets for a couple of my fish. I was here and needed some things so I stopped by.

But maybe this review will be more of a commentary of society or maybe just how my mood was at the time, but nonetheless this store needs to improve when it has many downfalls within the store itself. My plan was to go in and get stuff to make chili for dinner and grab a few things that I needed for it.

Strike 1: They didn't really have diced tomatoes. First I found whole tomatoes which I felt would probably work fine for my needs, then changed that idea when I found the rotela diced tomatoes with diced pepper. Not perfect but it'll do I'd just have to hope it's not too spicy as I'm not a fan of things being too spicy nor are my boys. I did eventually find chopped tomatoes which I felt ok with choosing.

Strike 2: I could not find tomato paste. Yup, there was no tomato paste. Numerous recipes call for tomato paste and yet for a grocery store, there was none. Great I'd have to make a trip to another store, which sure that is definitely doable.

Strike 3: I get up there and there's a line with only 1 cashier. Fine I'm sure they'd call another, which of course they did. Though, it did take some time for them to arrive relative to the time I was waiting and the time I expected to be in the store. One employee had some issues figuring out what register was ok to go into while it took another a few more moments to get up there to begin with. The third person arrived to take "the next customer in line" which technically would have been the customer in front of me though her stuff was on the belt and was about to be taken care of by the first cashier. That makes me next I suppose with my red basket still in hand, except when the cashier called for the next customer the guy with the cart behind me quickly jumped at the chance to be checked out next even though I was waiting longer. I suppose I can't blame the store too much for another impatient customer taking the chance to get out of their quicker, though they definitely could make a better effort to take the next person waiting as opposed to having a free for all for anyone to grab the chance to be rung up next even though others have been waiting longer. When they are not offering items, especially items that could very well be considered a staple item that forces one to make a stop at another store, they need to make more effort to insure the satisfaction of those in the store in other aspects. I was willing to buy the items and make the other stop, but having to wait even longer because they cannot make a simple step to bring the next customer in line over, they become expendable and I'd rather just go to the other store and wait there and get EVERYTHING I need to...

Grocery Outlet is a family chain and has that family feel when you walk in. They don't have the best prices in everything, but when they do I suggest you buy a few extras because it might be a one time buy for them. Opening day I bought 5 oz Kettle chips BOGOF $1.99 ea, V8 Splashers BOGOF $1.99 ea., Cauliflower was $0.99 each and bananas was $0.39 lb. They also had $0.89 dozen eggs and full box of lucky charms for $0.99 as well.

I didn't get a chance to see my adult drinks section because the ceremony just happened to be in that area nor did I have any cake during the opening. There were lots of chamber, city of Orange people, CHOC people during opening last week.

There isn't a lot of Organic produce here, the only organic I saw was bagged greens for $2.50. Some of the ribs are cut in half and repackaged. (why don't more people do that?). It's kind of a pain lugging a whole slab around.

If you save a bit of money, they will ring the bell here for you. (Making sure everyone knows you saved money...kind of feels like one of those birthday greetings at restaurants). Parking in the same lot with the...

I dislike this store my friend tried to apply here. Went well dress and all left his information down. So the store reached out to him. Didn't know that they did. He calls back the store tells them the owners which area acouple went on vacation or so that what he was told. He calls back nothing their not back. Calls again and the people who scan the item were very rude, they don't know how to approach or talk to custom in a nicely manner told him. I have a line of people call later hangs up very rudly what kind of person does that what kind of people did the cuople hire. They don't have good communication, skills they. Hey calls again the owner told him we are not going to hire you and you called so many times and also told him that's for ruining my vacation. She must be crazy saying such thing your the owner your supposed to to hold your composure.i think owner needs more training and see a doctor. She might be a racist but I see that works their is white. It must be a racist store as well. I hope you get help...
