Carlos and the whole team is racist against black people. I had just moved to Orange County and thought that I could use my membership anywhere. I was able to workout the first day that I went to this location. But the second time, the staff didn’t tell me at the front desk that my membership didn’t work. Instead they sent a female employee to follow me in the restroom and she didn’t say a word to me. She just stared at me which was weird. Then when I walked past the front desk again to go to a treadmill, nobody called me to the front desk. Again all the staff were just staring at me from behind the front desk before finally sending a female employee to tell me I couldn’t workout. I asked her if they could help me switch my account to this location and she said “No. You have to go in person to your old gym to change it.” Which was a lie! I was able to change my gym within 2 minutes on the Planet Fitness website. So I got kicked out for no reason! When I tried to call and complain, Carlos said that the employee in the bathroom didn’t talk to me because I “hid in the bathroom stall”. I didn’t hide from anybody because I didn’t do anything wrong and didn’t know that my membership didn’t work there. Carlos’ comment about me “hiding in the bathroom” confirms that him and his employees kept staring at me because they thought that I was purposely trying to sneak in there gym and workout without a membership. Which was a wrong assumption to make. I thought this was supposed to be a judgement free gym but the employees are very judgmental. With that being said, Carlos should not be an assistant manager or general manager. And the other employees need retraining since they kick people out of the gym and don’t know how to help customers switch their membership locations which like I said only takes 2 minutes on the Planet...
Read morei've been a "black-card" member for a while. i went into a planet fitness for the 1st time in april. i went to the location on tustin street in orange. the employee there said he couldn't find my membership. he said he couldn't find me in the system at all. he said i could not still be signed up, & that i'd have to apply again. when i was unable to verify myself through your website, it seemed that what he was saying was true. therefore, i believed him. believing him that i had no membership, i signed up again on my phone, THEN he finally said i'm in the system once, & have 1 membership active.
he lied. that's fraud. you folks have been double-charging me every month for 7 months. that's $175 of fraud charges. an employee there named hannah, & the manager daisy, both told me that he should have been able to find me no problem. then daisy claimed it's impossible to cancel the 2nd membership, & that there was no further help she could give me. she also said the website never shows any membership info', & is only capable of signing up new memberships.

Read moreDecent gym with an excellent range of equipment and a good overall vibe. I would, however, hope a few things are addressed so members have a bit better of an experience. The water fountain should have a water bottle filling station installed on top of it, as this significantly improves the user experience for members who want to use their own bottles while working out. The taller of the two water fountains had a broken button, so everyone had to use the smaller fountain both for sips and for bottle filling (which is awkward). Many of the machines were missing cup holder bottoms, which resulted in me dropping my drink a few times when I mistakenly thought there was a cup holder bottom. There was a used mask inside the cup holder of one of the stair machines (not great cleanliness).
I am sharing these comments because I genuinely like this facility, and I really want to see some of these minor imperfections smoothed out to help make it perfect.
I would, however, recommend joining this facility, since this gym has way more machines than other larger gyms do, while also having a very easy to navigate store-like layout which makes moving machine to machine much easier. Provided these issues are resolved, I'd be happy to move my rating to...
