This was the WORST Airbnb experience we have ever had. DO NOT book with Alpha Leader Vacation Homes—you will regret it. The hosts are unprofessional, disrespectful, and retaliatory.

Upon arrival, we noticed so many hairs in the bathroom including the upper shower wall but chose not to report it immediately, as we wanted to settle in and enjoy our stay. The following night, when our guests arrived, they discovered hairs on their supposedly “clean” folded towels. At that point, we felt compelled to notify the hosts the next morning—well within Airbnb’s 72-hour reporting policy. We didn’t even ask for anything—just brought the cleanliness concerns to their attention.

Instead of addressing the issue professionally, the hosts retaliated by revoking our agreed-upon late checkout, forcing us out an hour earlier. Even though we were legally entitled to the extra time, we chose to leave to avoid further conflict. However, before leaving, we meticulously documented everything—video-recording every room, drawer, and cabinet, proving that we left the place spotless and highlighting existing damages. These included:

• Stains in drawers we never even used • A cigarette burn on a blanket • Cracked staircase railings (a serious safety hazard) • Marks on the walls and furniture

We also showed that we never touched the locked grill, never used the pool, and that all doors and windows were properly secured. Despite all this, the hosts accused us of being “fishy” for reporting a legitimate concern. We even have timestamped photos proving our claims. Their response? Dismissive and rude. Instead of simply acknowledging the issue or offering clean towels, they chose hostility.

To clarify, the hair we found in the shower was discovered mid-shower when looking up at the wall—absolutely disgusting. Had to document that too.

Yes, we delayed reporting the issue initially, but only because we wanted to enjoy our vacation without unnecessary stress. Unfortunately, our experience was completely tainted by their lack of professionalism and care. Absolutely despicable behavior.

Just wanted to update that Airbnb refunded us fully and gave us money for a hotel due to treatment we received and the huge inconvenience their disrespect caused.

We thought this host and location would be a great fit for our family vacation but after getting should settled into the unit we found some issues with cleanliness. There were large stains in the carpet, the lamp in the livingroom was broken, the walls were dirty and curtains in master bedroom had a large stain on them. In an attempt to notify the host of the issues so that we would not be blamed he went into defense mode and said "what do you expect for me to paint and replace the carpet after every rental period"? Then he said he'd give us back our money because he didn't want "people like us in his property". I tried to advise that we were only letting him know the issues as this was the first day we arrived. He refunded our money and canceled our reservation at about 10 pm at night. He then said it would be better for us to leave as he was calling the cops! Yes the cops were called on us! We weren't loud, damaging the property or anything in that nature. We had to pack up our belongings and literally find a place to stay with 2 small kids. The police came and of course we left but it's the principal. His lack of empathy, compassion and inability to have the slightest level of decency and customer service urged me to write this post. Alpha Leader use their “list of fees” as a way to charge guests over the advertised price. Our Airbnb was left spotless, with photo evidence of each room, yet we received over £100 worth of fines for items in rooms which weren’t even used. From the photos sent to us, it was very obvious that the damage had been caused by their cleaning team (the same stain across towels and sheets used in multiple rooms, including some not even used!!).
