My husband and I purchased a couch on 8/20. We were told 1 piece of the couch was out of stock but would be delivered to the store by 8/25 and we'd get delivery of the whole couch by 8/26, or at the latest 8/28. We were asked to make sure our old couch was not in the way and the area was clear. On 8/25, we removed our old couch, because we didn't have room for 2 couches. On 8/28, I called because I had not heard from Kanes. I was told that 2 pieces of the couch were still on backorder and had not arrived. I asked why I was sold a couch that didn't exist and told only 1 piece was missing, but now it was 2. The representative apologized for the information I was given but that the pieces would arrive by 9/4, with delivery set up within 2 days after that, and I could expect delivery the week of 9/18. I complained because that was 4 weeks from when I was originally told. The representative claimed there was nothing much they could do but asked if I'd like to talk to a manager. I did, and he told me the pieces were scheduled to arrive on 9/4, and he could try to get me delivery the same day, but at the latest it would be 9/6. On 9/4, I called because I hadn't heard anything. I was told the pieces had not been delivered yet, but was scheduled for that day and we could schedule delivery for the 10th, which I said was fine if it was in the evening. On 9/5, I got a call from our original salesman, who said the pieces had arrived and we could schedule delivery for 9/11, 9/13, or 9/16, or later. When I told him I'd already scheduled it, he confirmed it. On 9/9, I got a call to confirm my delivery window was 10 in the morning. When I said I'd told them I could only be home in the evening, they said they couldn't change it, so I'd have to reschedule my delivery to 9/13 or later. This was frustrating, because my husband or I had cleared our schedules on every previously agreed upon delivery date, only for the couch to keep getting pushed back, and then for it to be scheduled when we wouldn't be home, despite multiple conversations on when we could be home. The couch was eventually delivered on 9/13, in good condition. Kane's offered us a discount on the shipping (not free, but discounted) to apologize for the delay. My husband and I were both extremely frustrated by the constant runaround and misinformation given to us starting with our sales rep, Michell, all the way through until delivery. Our rep didn't call or text with updates until after we had already called and tried to resolve the issue multiple times, and he didn't have updated information when he reached out. There was clearly a lack of communication all around, and every time we called, we got different information on when the pieces were expected or which pieces were even available. The fact that we were sold a couch with the promise that it was ready except for one piece but it would for sure be available to deliver in a week, only to find out the couch was not available for purchase and was MIA somewhere along the delivery line for multiple weeks really annoyed us. If you don't have the item and cannot guarantee when you will have it (as we were told both that it was a guarantee and then later told they couldn't guarantee), then I think it's bad faith to sell it anyway. Because of the information we received, our family was without a couch for 3 weeks while we waited for Kanes to deliver, and we didn't have any kind of chairs in our living room either. Needless to say, this compounded our frustrations. We waited to write this review until we could confirm a partial refund of the shipping, and could see if anything else came up wrong with the couch. So far, the couch is more than fine, but the experience to get it has left us with a bad taste in our mouths, and we are unlikely to use Kanes for a...
Read moreJamie McClune Plum doesn't recommend Kane's Furniture (5112 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL). 21m · Shared with Your friends Friends On the afternoon of March 11, 2021 my husband and I walked into your beautiful Kanes Furniture Store at 5112 East Colonial Drive in Orlando, Florida. We were promptly and courteously greeted by Sleep Specialist, Mr. Jeff Peterson. Mr Peterson was very knowledgeable and helpful in our search for a new bed. We purchased the Delano Plush King Pillow Top with Advanced Motion and Adjustable Base. The bed was delivered on March 16, 2021 and we are very pleased with this purchase On the same day we purchased the bed we informed our Sleep Specialist, Mr. Peterson that we were also interested in buying a bedroom set. Mr. Peterson took us on a tour of all the bedroom sets in the store. When we turned the corner I faced with the Most Beautiful Bedroom Set I have ever seen. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. My husband insisted that it was too expensive for us, but I would not be deterred. I simply had to have that gorgeous bedroom furniture. We argued over this issue for quite some time and after I offered to dip into my savings account to partially pay for the set, my husband finally agreed to the sale. I was on cloud nine and we proceeded to pay for the bedroom set in full. We were informed by Mr. Peterson that due to the Covid Crisis that the bedroom set could not be delivered until the month of May. My husband and I readily agreed to this delivery time as we understood the problems that Covid has caused the retail business. We informed Mr. Peterson that we would be moving our family to Colorado in June of 2021 and that May would be fine Here the story goes quite sour I'm afraid. I contacted the Kanes Furniture Store a few days ago to get an update on the delivery as I am anxious to get my new furniture. We had been waiting 2 months and was looking forward to the delivery. It was at this time that I was informed that the delivery date had been pushed back and that the furniture would not even arrive at the warehouse until sometime in June and delivered the end of June or early July. Needless to say I was totally devastated by this information. The Customer Service Representative at the store told me she would make some inquiries and speak with the Store Manager to see if anything could be arranged. I was told she would call me back within an hour or two. I did not receive a call back that day, nor did I receive one the following day. This afternoon my husband and I drove back to the store and spoke with the Customer Service Representative. At this time she reiterated the information that we would not get our furniture in time for our move to Colorado. We asked if it would be possible for us to purchase the floor model that they have in the store and was told that option was not available to us at all. Next, I inquired if there was anything at all they could possibly do to help us obtain the bedroom set. She did an inquiry and said that there were 250 orders ahead of our for that particular set. To say the very least, my husband and I were stunned by this information. Why, oh why would your company sell furniture that they cannot deliver to their customer? If the items are not in stock then the customer should not be sold the merchandise. Kanes Furniture should tell the customer, "I am sorry but that bedroom set is not in stock and we do not know when it will be available". I am thinking that is very close to the borderline of Fraud. Nonetheless, it is very unethical and it has been an absolute heartbreak for me. We were more than happy to wait 2 months for our furniture because we loved it. It is supremely unreasonable to expect a customer to wait 4 months for their paid...

Sales experience was great. Overall experience easily the WORSE ever.
I purchased furniture for two dining rooms and some cocktail tables. Andrew the salesperson was extremely helpful. When asked about when I would acquire the furniture he gave various dates for various pieces. I told him I was okay with the timeline given as I understood about the shortages and shipping delays. Andrew confirmed that the days he was giving were accurate and if anything the furniture would arrive before.
Furniture was ordered in July. 1 dining room set was promised the end of August. The rest was promised the end of September. I asked Andrew if he was sure because I would really like to have everything in place by the holidays, to which he replied if anything it would come sooner.
The delivery date in August was confirmed and ready to go. I took the day off from work in preparation of receiving the dining room. Only to find out no delivery would be arriving, no call, no email, advising of a cancellation or rescheduling.
I called Andrew and the store just to be promised I would be called back which never happened. Finally, a young lady was able to explain that the dates given are estimates and that she would be able to give a estimated date of Mid September.
First order was received.
I contacted Kane’s again to ask about the remainder of the items. They gave dates in October then November. Finally right around Thanksgiving a delivery arrives.
But not all of it. I called again and was told the tables would be in the beginning of December. Well that came and then it was the end of December. Then the beginning of January. Now they’re saying March or April.
Once again. Waiting for the furniture was not an issue as long as the dates given were met. Constantly being lied, being told I would be contacted by a manager, and the constant absence of any type of customer service is unacceptable.
I made the decision to cancel the remaining items. I called and was told the amount I would be getting refunded. Once the refund went through I received only half of what I was told.
I asked Haley (assistant manager) if she could provide a breakdown. Her reply……”you lost your discount-if you have any other questions call corporate”.
Once again, showing how great they are at not caring. Unlike their website states.
This review is simply to make other buyers aware. Kane’s initially seemed like they would get it done but proved over and over how their main objective was to make the sell and forget about the rest.
I bought various other pieces of furniture from American signature, Havertys, and Rooms to go. All gave a distant delivery date but fulfilled it and kept in touch providing updates.
Kane’s wouldn’t even return calls.
So if you are looking for a shopping experience where you will be promised whatever you want only to be extremely disappointed, Kane’s on E. Colonial is the...
