This place is the definition of preditory lending!
They WILL try to confuse you. They WILL be repetitive and try to corner you into signing for a loan. They WILL be dishonest about what to expect. And your loan will require total payment of OVER x2 the loans value. I was able to walk away, but I'm sure plenty of people under these tactics would give in because they NEED $$.
Makes me sick.
Details of my experience with them below: I applied and was pre approved. Filled out their forms and confirmed that I'd be willing to put up car #2 for collateral.
Received a call from them, and they begin the process by wanting details for car #1 - which I did not tell them about or offer as collateral. No problem they said and proceeded with car #2.
I'm an extremely busy professional and have no time to waste. They pushed hard to get me in their actual doors.
They called multiple times a day. Asking if I'd close before the week's end. I explained I work for surgeons and can rarely spare time so they'd need to work with me to get things done.
It took probably a week and a half before I was actually able to make time to go to their storefront.
They pushed so hard throughout the process, that in fact I supplied them with EVERY piece of information required for the loan to ensure that I was not wasting time by coming in without being ready to sign..... Pictures of all four sides of car #2, picture of the odometer, picture of the VIN, & proof of Registration. After sending everything over, I was told all was good and to come in; I moved meetings and got into their office.
I arrive, start the formal process, and am suddendly told, "Ooooooo so you estimated 110k miles on car #2 and it actually has 118k miles which puts it $50 below our required value limit for collateral. So......"
The gentleman just sat there.
Me: okay, so what do you need? Gentleman: well we cannot use car #2 because you said 110k miles and it's 118k. But we can go ahead and use car #1. Me: I'm sorry, what? Gentleman: Yes, we can't use car #2. But car #1 will work. Me: I sent a photo of the odometer of car#2 to you ahead of time, and was told it was okay. Before that I was only asked to estimate mileage. If it's so important that the mileage I said was within 5k of the actual odometer, why wouldn't you say that up front? Why wasn't I told it wouldn't work out when I sent in all the images and proof? You told me it was good and to come in. Gentleman: Ooooo. Yeahh. Well estimate yes, and if it was within 5k miles of what you estimated it would be okay. But it's not. Me: Well this is my collateral as we've discussed. So what is it you're wanting from me? Gentleman: Well we can just go ahead and use car #1! Me: No, thank you. If you won't accept the collateral we discussed, I can't move forward with this loan. Gentleman: Ohhh... But ma'am we can't take car #2, it's value is $50 less than the limit we have set. Me: Okay. So if you cannot accept it then I am not signing with you for this loan. Gentleman: If we make the acception for you then it's like where does it stop. $50. $100. $1000. Me: Okay, that's your choice. If the bank isn't interested in my business over $50 I can't do anything about that. Gentleman: Oohhh... But we can't take car #2 ma'am. Me: Okay, then I do not need a loan from you. Gentleman: We can use car #1 ma'am!!! Me: If this was going to be a problem, I would think you would have the sense and respect to be honest with potential clients. Gentleman: Well if car #2 was within 5k miles of what you estimated.... we could accept it. But we can't, I'm sorry. But we can use car #1. Me: I've been clear, I'm not using car #1. Gentleman: Okay, but we can't accept car #2 ma'am. Me: Okay? Gentleman: ... Me: I'm not using car #1. Gentleman: ... But we can't accept car #2.... Me: Alright. Well, it seems there's anything left to talk about here. I won't be using car #1 and I will not be signing for any loan with you. Thank you. (Got...
Read moreAbsolute WORST experience. This is my second time getting a loan with them as I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and I really wish I hadn't. Please do yourself a favor and dont choose this company based on ease. They make you run back and forth, the staff is usually either rude or have no idea how to do what you need and get an attitude about it. It has taken me a week to get through to any type of closing and I have still sat here for 2 hours staring at my closing screen with no one to help me because they chose to help new people over me (who was literally one sign away from being done completely). I would not recommend wasting your time here because that's all they will end up doing is simply wasting it and then...
Read moreI received a call from onemain financial about an inquiry I made online in regards to a personal loan. The member I spoke to was rude and added atleast 10 additional documents he wanted me to provide before being approved when originally it was only 2. Aside from that the moment I told them I would no longer be moving forward with a loan and would like a letter of withdrawal they ceased email communication. They only would call me and tell me that it was being made and I would receive in a couple of days. Sadly it has been two weeks and no letter was ever delivered. There interest rates are much higher then other companies and due to the neglectful and rude service I will not ever bank or do financing with this company....
