Unprofessionalism at its finest from the salesperson I dealt with. I decided to try Kalin for a second time since I had another bad experience prior to the last one with another salesperson. I selected a sofa in August 2020 and waited over a month for a sample of the fabric we chose to make sure it would work with the other pieces I ordered elsewhere. I never received a sample of the fabric nor a phone call from Andrea saying it would not be possible if that was the case. This time (Jan. 2021) we were approached by a woman named Patrice. I told her what I was looking for and she showed us the Lexington line of furniture which has a sofa that you can customize. We also selected two accent chairs and the fabric that I chose was questionable if it would be available for the chairs. She needed to check with the manufacturer. Meanwhile, we decided to go back to the store to place the order for the sofa and we had a backup plan for the chairs if we could not have the fabric I wanted. I called and she said she was not going to be there. When we arrived, there she was and I told her I can work with someone else since she had to go. Instead, she came over and said she could help us and wrote our order with the price of the sofa on it. I also selected two recliners if we couldn’t do the chairs knowing that the wait time for a La-z-boy recliner is “6 months”. Each time Patrice said she would call me, she never did and when I called her I was always told she was busy with customers. Did I not matter at all? If she didn’t have an answer, all she had to do was call and say so. She was annoyed and actually told me several times that I should go shop elsewhere. Her behavior was not normal and I questioned it from the moment she approached us. I called the store manager and he was not much help except that he put the phone on speaker and had Patrice call me. Did he think she would say the unprofessional things she said when no one was listening to her, in front of him? Unfortunately, she made several mistakes and that was not something she could change b/c I had copies of my order. When I called her to place the order w/o waiting for the chairs, she changed the price of the sofa by about $1000 and never once said she made a mistake on the price. She said the price of the sofa went up. I told her she had to honor the price on my order which was not an estimate. She told me she would not; and told me to go elsewhere to buy the furniture. I’m surprised that a store like Kalin would keep someone like this to help their customers. There is one very caring and professional salesperson that we had the chance to speak to when she was not around and his name is Scott. We recommend him highly.    Read moreWhen we moved from Washington State to Florida last year, we needed new furniture for almost every room. I picked Kalin’s because I knew we wanted Stressless chairs and Kalin’s had a good selection. Elena Semenchenko was our sales person and after working with her to just to look at the Stressless chairs I knew I’d be buying the rest of our furniture there. Elena spent a lot of time with my husband and me, told us what to look for and suggested we wait to order (our house wasn’t even built yet) until there was a sale which was determined by the manufacturer and not the store. Elena also helped me pick out a bedroom set, kitchen table and chairs and rugs for the family room and bedroom. When we finally moved here she set me up with one of the store designers Germaine Malone who helped me furnish our living room, dining room and entry way with furniture and rugs. I changed my mind so much and Germaine never let me just settle. She said I had to really like it. We started over several times. I love the pieces and colors I ended up with. I never could have picked them out on my own. Both Elena and Germaine were so easy to work with and neither was pushy in any way. Early on I was working with Elena from WA and she would research what I was looking for send me pictures of things she found. I was so grateful we were able to order our family room, kitchen and bedroom furniture before we moved because it was here waiting for us when we moved in. Kalin’s held the furniture in their warehouse until we could have it delivered. With Covid issues, it was taking up to 6 months to get delivery on furniture.
