Beware if you plan to buy saltwater fish or corals here. ZERO return policy. When I was there on Sunday, 10/23, I purchased some soft corals. I noticed that the clerk was performing a water test, checking the specific gravity of their tanks. I glanced at the hydrometer and saw that the water did not even register on the scale of the test meter - the lever to indicate specific gravity was all the way at the bottom. I thought to myself, that's odd, maybe something wrong with their test meter. When I got the soft corals home, I tested the water in the bag with my own hydrometer, and got the same reading - didn't even register. SO these poor corals have been living in what is the equivalent of brackish water, and I now have to try to acclimate them to my tank. I did a drip acclimation for and hour, brought the SG up in their container, ensured the water was the same as what was in the tank, and then introduced them. They are still in shock 24 hours later, and having just called the store, I was told there is zero return policy. EVEN THOUGH their water and mistreatment of the corals is probably going to be the reason they can't adjust to my perfectly calibrated tank. I will never, ever shop at this store again and will tell everyone I know about this lame return policy - even when they know they are at fault for mistreating the corals in the first place. 10/29 - Update Called customer support for Petco. Spoke with an escalation specialist twice. She called this store, and they were supposed to call me to try and resolve this issue. The store has not called me. They told their own escalation specialist that they couldn't call me yet because they were having problems with their phones. Funny, I called them and spoke to someone just fine. So, the store is obviously trying to avoid me, because they know they are in the wrong, and refuse to make this situation right by refunding my money and admitting that they were the problem. I'll continue to call their Customer Support (because they too, like the store, never call me back when they say they will) until I have a resolution to this.

Read moreFIRST TIME CUSTOMER I booked cutting and bath for my 2 little dogs. I had never taken my dogs to Petco for any reason. The price seemed good for a cut and wash. Girl who checked in the dogs was nice and I explained the health concerns of one of my dogs. All was good. When I picked up the dogs the person checking me out was nice and told me about the app to get 20% off on the first cut. This guy helped me with the app (I'm 60 and not an app person). When the dogs came out the dogs hair cuts looked great. THEN I got the bill, there was an charge of $5 for supplies or maintance or something for each dog. So, I questioned the hidden fee. OMG, this went on for a while, I told them I was not paying a hidden fee. After a good lenght of time and my blood pressure going up the manager on duty said he would remove this fee. So, I paid and left a $5 tip for each groomer then store. Later that night I thought about the $100 (little less), I thought that cant be right. Well, I did not have the reciept because the manager on duty didnt give it to me. Dog cut cost $50 each, I gave $10 (total) tip, 20% off with the app for first time customer. So, my math = $50 + $50 + $10 = $110 minus 20% (22) = $88 So, I went by the store the next morning to get some of my money back. Well that didnt work because I didnt have the reciept and they could not reproduce my reciept or even look at my account to see the history. The manager of duty (same guy) went on and on about something I signed when I brought the dogs in. I told him I never was asked to sign anything and I have no idea what he was talking about. This went on and on again. He said he would look into this and give me call tomomrrow.

The aquatics folks were very knowledgeable about getting a breeding tank set up for guppies, and showed me which ones they preferred to use.
The nutrition information is excellent They're not trying to do anything but get you the best food that they can for the price. It's not their fault if people want to feed their dogs and cats garbage like Purina.
I've never felt unwelcome in this store, they've never closed the store early on me or anyone else I've seen. I've seen them turn people away after closing (obvs) and forgot the time and had to be shooed out at closing time myself. I was told it's a liability to have customers in the store after closing and good on Petco for that policy! I'm sure these wonderful people would like to get home after a hard day of helping ungrateful people out. And believe me, I've seen some entitled people in my time... I have never ever seen then refuse someone before closing time. Ever. They're always so punctual and right on time.
I could go on and on about how much I love this store and it's workers all day. They're great people.
I've been told the Manager's name is Chris? And if you see this Chris, you tell your employees how great they are. I love going there. (I don't wanna name any employee names but there's three in there that I adore!)
