I guess I should have read the reviews before enrolling my girls. Like most people say, the instructors are good, the office staff/management is terrible and rude. Main issue is how they schedule classes. Especially if you have more than one child. When one bumps up to a new level, it throws off the schedule. You get a new time that sometimes won’t work with the other child and their time slot. My price raised almost every month also. The instructors come and go often. I never know who my younger daughter will have, she’s pretty consistently gotten a different coach almost every week. Sometimes we get a notice about it, someone’s we don’t and when we do, it’s not the person they say will even be the new coach the next week. SEVERAL times we have had to end lessons early for poop in the pool which I realize isn’t anyone’s fault, however it’s very hard for us to schedule makeup lessons again because my daughters are in different levels, and I can never seem to find the same time slots or even days for them to schedule them. So we lose out on money through no fault of our own. They refuse to refund that even if none of their makeup classes work for us. And we weren’t the ones cancelling. This month they charged me not only the regular monthly fee, but a raise in price plus the annual registration fee. At the same time tho, my daughter moved up a level and when I tried getting her new schedule it was impossible to make work and the general manager was rude, inflexible, and refused any kind of refund even tho we can no longer come, so I’m paying the annual fee for no reason. She wouldn’t even refund that part. She also hung up on me at the end of the call. It may be ok for people to have one child here but two in different levels is very hard for...
Read moreWe had a very disturbing incident happen last week. Our daughter is enrolled in a swim class here and was doing a lesson with two instructors, Mary and Serena. Mary is always kind and attentive. We’ve witnessed Serena get frustrated with kids in the past but never anything physical. This time, however, was different. My daughter was having a hard time staying focused, as 7 year olds tend to do, when Serena grabbed her ankles out of frustration and pulled her under the water. My daughter came out of the water scared and immediately swam over to Mary for protection. I immediately stood up and began yelling at her to keep her hands off my daughter. The supervisor, Reyna, witnessed the whole thing and pulled Serena from the pool.
A week has passed since the incident and Serena is still working with children. We are opening a case with Child Protective Services against the facility. Someone like this who cannot control their frustration when working with children, should not be working with children, period. And the school is clearly not taking the complaint seriously.
My response to the owner: Your staff was never threatened and you clearly did not take the incident seriously. You are lying about what happened in order to save face. Your lack of accountability speaks volumes about your organization. You do not value the safety of the children you are teaching. Your attempt to paint me as the bad guy when your instructor acted with such malice is quite frankly disturbing. This business has multiple reviews about rude and abusive staff and the owner downplays them. Your Yelp reviews are embarrassing. We made the right decision in pulling our daughter...
Read moreIf I could I'd give this place 0 stars. The front office and deck staff are rude. The instructors are inconsistent with their discipline and instructions to the children. My son is young and has a tendency to not listen. He is a quick learner but easily gets bored and wants to entertain himself. I’ve tried working with the staff and to communicate with them, which always got dismissed.
In the beginning we had a variety of different instructors due to changes in staff or make ups. One instructor would kick my son out of class because he would go under water and play while the instructor was with other children. Others would scold him or ignore him and not provide him the same attention and instructions as the other children. Which causes unsafe conditions for my child.
There was one incident where we intervened and pulled my son from class because he was not listening and the instructor was clearly overwhelmed. We recognized that our son’s disruptive behavior was not ideal for the other students. The school reported us to DCS for child abuse. Parents shouldn't walk into this place in fear of being falsely reported for child abuse. My son doesn't listen. We left it to the instructors to correct and when one instructor was having a very hard time with him we intervened and pulled him from class. Somehow that counts has child abuse because we pulled him by his arm out of the pool as he tried to go under water.
This place is a joke. Don't come here if you want your child to learn...
