Caffeine might explain why those little roadrunners are so fast. Needing to recharge after hiking at Catalina State Park, Emily and I dropped into Roadrunner Coffee to do just that. We got there around 9:30am and the place was busy. Their drive-thru was booming and while there was no line inside, over half the tables and seats were occupied. That gave me the good hope that this place has some great coffee. Emily and I both got the Jittery Javelina, which is a blend of caramel sauce and vanilla syrup. I don’t typically get sweet coffee drinks but after so many Americanos, my taste buds needed the bitter break. We also got a chocolate croissant to go with it. We honestly stumbled through ordering, both Emily and I probably giving the barista a mild aneurism due to our tiredness and lacking caffeine. The barista took it all in stride and helped us get our order in. We took a seat by the front windows and our drinks and baked treat were ready in about 5 minutes. The jittery javelina was really good. I didn’t notice too much of either the caramel or vanilla ingredients but that was okay because I downed my drink in just a few minutes. Emily and I split the croissant and we both felt it was good but not great with Em liking it more than me. I’m not the biggest fan of sweet baked treats (aside from cookies) and found the croissant to be average but will hit the spot if it sounds good to you. They had a free little library in there and I couldn’t stop looking over the books while trying to have small talk with Emily. They also had some board games to play with friends and family. Overall, I really liked Roadrunner Coffee Co. They do seem to cater to more of flavored or specialty drinks but they do have a normal menu if black coffee is more your vibe. There is also a small breakfast/lunch menu if you are feeling peckish and need something to go with your caffeinated drink. Beep beep!

Updated: September 23, 2023 - We yet again had such a lovely experience with Roadrunner. Their service and friendly staff is what keeps us going there. Love to support local and small businesses in our area, and they are by far our favorite! We order off the Grubhub app and still receive tremendous service! Small notes and sweet kind words to start our mornings off. They’re truly amazing! We love Roadrunner Cafe; they have great service, the food is good and the pastries are bomb. We go there three times a month and enjoy it every time. Yes the burrito is on the smaller side, but the turkey sausage breakfast sandwich is really good. Highly recommend!

I had a nearby appt and decided to give this place a try. Very disappointing. I don't know what their full staff looks like but 3 were on shift. It looked disorganized after we ordered. I noticed people in the drive thru looking upset. After 20 mins of waiting for a bland, mediocre breakfast burrito, I understood why. (Concur with previous reviewer's comment about chewy eggs.)The coffee I had was okay but nothing to rave about or recommend. Even my 6 year old was unsatisfied with their hot chocolate.

This was my first time here and I absolutely loved it! I ordered a 32 ounce Iced Caramel Macchiato (I know, I know, it's a basic coffee order) along with a Oatmeal Raspberry Bar, a Lemon Bar and a little star sugar cookie. The coffee was SOOO good, it tasted a bit stronger than Starbucks (which is a good thing cuz I usually have to add 1-2 shots espresso in my caramel macchiato at Starbucks) but it wasn't overpowering and tasted a lot better than starbucks' "watered down coffee". The raspberry oatmeal bar was melt in your mouth amazing 🤤 the lemon bar was also delicious 😋 the sugar cookie was for my son who devoured it within minutes lol, the restaurant itself was quite comforting, it was spacious and clean, definitely a place I will visit if meeting a friend for coffee or needing somewhere quiet and comfortable to work, the employee that served me was welcoming and kind - her service was 10/10 . The menu was easy to read and it was easy to order. They also have a list of all their syrups and flavors so you can order a custom drink if you prefer. They serve breakfast and lunch items, along with muffins, danishes, bear claws, and they have a couple gluten free options. I definitely recommend this place whether your just needing a quick pick-me-up or a quiet place to...

Very nice neighborhood place on the north side of Tucson.

I ordered the Gritty Javelina, it was fine, but maybe had to much flavor...it's probably why I stuck in with straight drip. I drank most of it and put some coffee in it from their carafes and it tasted better.

I was happy with the pastries. We ordered a cinnamon bun, which wasn't overly drenched in glaze, and had good consistency - meaning a good balance between bread and muffininess :). We also tried the banana nut bread. It was a nice size, and had a not overly sweet ir overpowering taste to it.

Noah had an excellent breakfast sandwich with egg cheese and bacon inside an toasted English muffin. It was also good.

I like that they had plenty of board games in case you wanted to hang out.

This location does have a drive through if youre looking to grab your coffee or baked goods on the go.

The service was great Friendly, quick, and capable. We beat a small rush, but I couldn't tell as folks were consistently in and out. The wait time for espresso orders was never long.

If you're in the area, don't be afraid to drop in...
