Last November I found myself in a bit of a jam trying to prepare an old PA system for a recital THAT WEEKEND. I'm not sure why I decided to wait until the week of the gig to test everything, but there I was with a sputtering crossover/input panel on one of the loudspeakers. After calling around the area (Houston, TX) and finding that no one could either repair it soon enough or get the part for me, I turned to Reverb in hopes that maybe I could find a replacement there. What I found was a guitar shop in Indiana that apparently had one of the crossovers/input panels. I got in touch with Nate here at Demont Guitars with low expectations. Not because I knew something that made me skeptical, but I am in Texas calling a guitar shop in Indiana looking for a spare part for a 20 year old PA loudspeaker. I was fairly certain that they would have better things to do with their day than even look for this part, much less ship it to me immediately.
I, however, could not have been more wrong! Not only was Nate pleasant and understanding, he was eager to help. He was pretty sure the part was around there somewhere, but needed some time to find it. After an hour or so, he called me back with news that he had found it, and was more than willing to send it to me that day. Within two hours of my first call, an invoice was created and the part was packaged and prepared to ship in time for me to make my repair the day before the gig. It absolutely saved the day!
I have never been to DeMont Guitars, but I can say without hesitation that the treatment I received from Nate was among the very best I have ever experienced in my 30 years of dealing with music stores. At this point I can only imagine how much of a joy it would be to spend some time in his shop looking for a new guitar. However, the next time I find myself anywhere near Indiana, I am definitely going to find out!
Thanks, again, Nate, for your time and help fixing a problem that you could have easily blown off and not thought...
Read moreIn April of 2019, I bought a guitar from Demont Guitars in Oswego, IL. It was a 50th Anniversary Tokai Hummingbird-in
Both the product and the customer service were absolutely great! Actually, I was so impressed with the quality of the guitar, I asked that Demont guitars send my regards and appreciation to the craftsmen in Japan.
As awesome of a guitar as it is, sometimes things just happen. In my instance, a weld on the bridge did not hold, so the tremolo function no longer worked. I can’t tell you how bummed I felt...
Knowing the guitar was out of warranty, I reached-out to Demont for repair advice. That’s all, just repair advice.
This crew was SO AWESOME! They genuinely felt bad for my situation, and immediately responded to offer their support!
They reached out to the Tokai guitar luthiers in Japan, while assuring me that they could still help me, even if Tokai couldn’t.
The Tokai luthiers responded and made a completely NEW replacement part just for me! I was ecstatic to hear this! I own several guitars, and this is easily one of my favorites!
Do you know that Tokai charged me? $0.00 Do you know what Demont Guitars charged me? $0.00
I was not charged a single dime, by anyone on the supply chain process of repair!
Both Nate and Dorian who work at Demont Guitars were INCREDIBLY helpful and proactively communicative throughput the entire process. Thank you both SO much!
I once read that “It’s not so important what happens to you, but how you react to what happens to you.” Demont Guitars, Tokai, and I, all worked together to exemplify this idea. I am a 100% satisfied customer...
Read moreBrought in a brand new bass that was borderline unplayable (fell in love with the look and sound and new I'd be able to fix the way it played later). These guys impressed in so many ways, from the extremely helpful, friendly staff, to the GREAT price ($65 for a complete bass setup and they even oiled the fretboard), and lightning quick turn around. I was told 2 weeks and the bass was finished 7 days exactly from the time i dropped it off to when I picked it up. My only gripe is just that i wish the had a better location to spread the word on the work they do and get more foot traffic in because places like this are really really hard to find, but they've been in business for long enough that the location likely isn't a problem :)
Will be recommending Demont to all my musician friends from here on out and wishing they continue to do business for many many more...
