Unfortunately I the individual who I asked 2 questions to, gave me a b.s. answer to both. I had a valuable personal camera in my family since the early 80s. The only thing he knew that it was cheap to fix the lens. Then he said oh yeah we would buy that from you for about $20. We sell one for $45. Didn't show me it or s thing. Insisted on letting me leave there for his boss. Which I would of loved to spoke , cause we a similar interests. Oh yeah up intill 3 years ago my uncle was a professdprof photographer, growing from the subways in brownsvilll New York , then starting his own studio, and working with half of the models worth anything out there. The camera with the lens fixed I've seen up to $250 plus. He didn't think I would know. Im not speaking for every employee that would be absolutely wrong. That one gentleman should never be allowed to talk to a guest before he is assisted by another worker. You didn't realize this but you lost a lot of business because that was just for starters. Im sorry to the owner your probably a very intrlintell individual and wish we had spoke to one another. 35 min drive each way. Im far from cheap but that I would of lost my camera and gas.. I hope the man confesses, cause I will one day speak as and hopefully learn something from the man in charge. I love all art. Don't know 10% of it all but I know enough...
Read moreI've picked up a few products from Overland Photo before and have always been impressed with the knowledge that the employees have and the extensive variety of products to choose from. That alone is 5 star worthy.
But my recent experience here left me compelled to write about the outstanding customer service that this sop provides. I had been having serious issues with my Canon camera and mic set up. Canon customer service wouldn't help me, and getting ahold of the mic manufacturers was proving to be difficult. Knowing how knowledgable the staff at Overland Photo are, I took my camera in for help since I was out of ideas.
Sito was incredibly kind and patient. It took nearly an hour to get things up and running, but he was never rude or cut corners. I've experienced less than kind customer service at other supply shops, and it can really make a person hesitant to reach out for help. Not the case here. After much testing and looking for solutions, the problem was solved and my camera was functioning like it should! I was thrilled since I had really been at my wit's end trying to figure everything out.
As a result, I'm a...
Read moreOverland photo supply has a lot of equipment to sell, but I always find that they are overpriced. I love to be able to walk in and purchase what I want or need from a store, but not when I can get the same item cheaper online. And I'm not talking just a few bucks. Today I priced a lense and they were asking $100 more than B&H, Amazon or any others online. Very dissapointing.
When I do go in and make purchases, I feel like I get the shaft. And they act like they don't care. While I want to support local businesses, local businesses should also support its customers and make it difficult to pass up on their great deals. So run some specials, or price your gear a few bucks cheaper than what I can get online. Build customers and promote friendly business instead of taking advantage of us.
Seriously, I really want to like your store and shop there, but you are making it difficult to do so. It has become the store that has it if I absolutely need something, can't wait for an order to come in, and don't care what it costs. That's not a good...
