SERV — Restaurant in Overland Park

Well I’ll start with the good. The facility is awesome and a great concept. Awesome atmosphere and lots of entertainment options with outdoor space for hanging out with friends during the summer (even though they close at 10 even on weekends).

Unfortunately that’s where it ends. The food is service is severely lacking. The different food “concepts” is a neat idea but the execution needs work. Prices are high for the quality you get. My friend ordered a bbq brisket sandwich, and the meat was chewy and didn’t resemble any type of real barbecue. Maybe thrown in an oven? The side of beans was clearly microwaved. For $15? Not a chance.

I ordered the PBR pizza. It was fine. Size was plenty big and flavor was pretty good. Just didn’t feel very high quality again for a $15 price tag.

Now for the service. First off, there was no one anywhere to great you as you come in or to explain how the concept works. We stood inside the front doors for several minutes before the hostess finally showed up and got us seated. From there, I think our server only visit 3 times the entire time we were there (which we ended up being almost 2 hours just for dinner). It was a struggle to even get a drink refill, and getting our bill was a nightmare.

After walking pasted our table at LEAST 4 times and seeing us with our cards ready and trying to get his attention, our waiter finally came with our bill. Paying is handled on Toast branded handheld devices which puts an awkward pressure for tipping, even when the service was very subpar. The biggest issue was what I found after I had paid. I chose the 20% tip option offered on my bill that was $16 and some change. Somehow the Toast machine calculated that to be $6.75, well over twice what the tip should’ve been. So now I’ve somehow spent almost $25 for a mediocre pizza and poor service.

I’m willing to give them another shot later in the summer when (hopefully) they have things figured out better, because the space...

Wow... the service here was LAUGHABLE! Saturday night at 7... not even half full. We had 3 couples, had just played pickleball. We were not in a rush, not drinking heavily and not complaining about anything.

Our server took half of the drink orders, then left for 5 mins before taking the rest. Brought the drinks but no waters (we had already requested twice) Took food orders... came back two more times asking each person what they ordered. We were brought the wrong food and drinks no less than SEVEN times and asked if we were with the table next to us (?) twice. More questions about who ordered what. Then, I offered to just put all three on one ticket and our server rudely said, "too late for that!"

One server (a manager maybe?) came over and was very nice apologized profusely... this was before the food even came... and said to flag him down if we needed him. Sadly, we didn't see him again.

We were still having a great time with great company and just laughing at the craziness. The food was pretty good once we got everything.

The server came and asked again what everyone ordered, showing her tablet to each person, THREE MORE times, to figure out the bills. Then, she just started grabbing food and drinks that were not finished. If you turned to say something to your left neighbor, your 1/3 full drink was snatched from the right side. It was shocking... we had to say, "wait wait! can we get a box for that?" After all of that, we were stunned to see included gratuity STARTING at 22%!

In the end, we left laughing and somewhat ok with it... because after 20 mins of this confusion, one of the 3 bills never...

What an exceptional experience! From the outstanding food and drink offerings to the beautiful, welcoming ambiance and impeccable service, SERV truly exceeded all of my expectations. This was the perfect setting for my son's 15th birthday celebration with his friends.

The owners went above and beyond to ensure we had the full VIP treatment. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail were immediately apparent - they were incredibly accommodating of our needs and took the time to provide thoughtful recommendations and insights that enhanced our visit.

The bartenders were simply outstanding. Not only were they skilled and creative in making delicious cocktails, but their friendly demeanor and patience made the experience all the more enjoyable. Each staff member we interacted with, from the servers to the hosts, exemplified professionalism and a genuine desire to cater to our group.

The physical space itself was absolutely beautiful - the thoughtful design and ambiance created an atmosphere that felt simultaneously upscale and comfortable. It was the ideal backdrop for making lasting memories on this special occasion. I am already looking forward to returning to SERV.

This establishment has so much to offer, from the incredible service to the high-caliber food, drinks, and overall experience.
