KC Wine & Spirits — Local services in Overland Park

Since I'm not a big consumer of alcohol my experiences in liquor stores is limited. When I go I really appreciate helpfulness and a knowledgeable staff. This store has both as well as a huge selection of everything. Being 97% Paleo, I started trying gluten-free beers. As it turns out, there are some I really like. This store not only has a good selection but they keep them all together versus other places it tell me, "yes we have it it's just mixed in with the other beers." if you have any idea how many beers there are these days you know that's a little bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. Purchased a Bota Box of Pinot Grigio. When serving it that same day it tasted fermented and we found out that it expired 6 months earlier. When asked whether I could have someone pick up a replacement I was told they HAD TO HAVE the expired box first. REALLY??? So I have to get in my car at 9 pm to fix something they messed up? I offered to take a snapshot of the expiration stamp. But NO they had to have that box! So I had to have someone come and pick up the "box" to get an exchange. Perhaps checking.the expiration date before putting a product on the shelf, being it something as inexpensive as boxed wine, would be a good idea. Bad...

I went in for the first time in hopes that they would have newcastle. after looking around and not being able to find it, I asked. I was told they didn't have it. There were a few employees behind the counter and the store was not busy. I looked around though did not know of any of the beers and was a little overwhelmed. It would have been really helpful if someone could have suggested something to me that would have been similar to what I was looking for. I walked out with nothing. This place would be nice if you knew what you were doing, or was from here and knew the local breweries. This isn't a customer service...
