Called and set up appointment for Thermador stove, oven was not working properly. Asked if they were qualified to work on Thermador and was told yes Repair man came out turned knobs on both ovens and said the thermostat needed replaced in large oven because when turning knob for small oven it made clicking sound and large oven knob when turned did not make clicking sound . He never checked any wiring on stove Part was discontinued, told tech I would find thermostat on eBay. Was advised to call and set up appointment once I had thermostat. Emailed seller on eBay who had thermostat to make sure it was for model of stove. He asked what problem I was having and explained to him and he advised that he had his doubts it was thermostat. Told me that large oven knob does not make clicking sound when turned only little oven makes that sound He spoke with my husband and had him check relay box a wire was broke off. He sent us a new relay box that cost $250, husband repaired broken wire and installed new relay. Oven working fine. The thermostat for oven would have cost $750 dollars then I would have had to pay for installation and oven still would have not worked. Paid $106 for wrong diagnosis on oven. May I also add for the owners sake. You assumed I bought a cheaper part. The part I had was not the correct part. In fact as I was replacing the part, it did not even fit correctly. I wanted my money back. I was going to try to get the correct part from you, but you refused to take the part back. And still wanted me to pay for a new one. It was at that moment when I decided not to continue business with you. Not because I was trying to return a part because I found a cheaper one. Very friendly phone attendant indicated that would be great as they could get a look at it more quickly that way. I had considered just buying a new one as after a quick you-tube search it looked like it could be a multitude of problems and significant diagnostics to determine what was really wrong. Anyhow from the friendly sales associate that received the appliance and helped me get it out of the trunk and onto a roll cart, to the repair fellow, who had it fixed within a week (when they indicated the diagnosis time could be up to two weeks) And the price after diagnosis of $36 to fix was way better than buying a $300+ microwave.
