Sub Stop — Restaurant in New Oxford

What can I say? Am I living in the past and expecting too much?

After seeing videos of local spots showcasing their subs, I was craving a good sub. I was never at Sub Stop. I figured with a name like that, they must be great.

I walked in to see the giant metal stop sign. Was greeted by the staff. I had high hopes. So far, so good. Charming place. Prices seemed good. $8 for a sub.

Then I get it. It was so much smaller than I expected. The bread was the softer type. It's probably from an eight pack of Walmart rolls. The turkey? Eh. I was expecting deli flat thick. This also seemed like Walmart variety. Looking at the shape of the cheese, it looked like kraft singles. I think there might have been only one slice at that.

I guess I expected too much. I expected better than subway. This wasn't better than the prepackaged convince store. Myers meat market has waaaay better subs already pre made. I get them all the time.

My son got a cheese steak and said it was more onions than steak. Also disappointed.

Large sign read that refills are .75 due to rising cost. I guess that's what happened to the subs. Rising costs.

The staff was excellent. Saddens me to leave a bad, honest review. And if you look at my reviews, I am rarely...

One of the best small sub shops still around. I stop in on my work route when I have an opportunity. The bread is perfect. They prepare your food exactly to your order and they're nice to talk to you while you wait. I would recommend to anyone who's hungry. I had an opportunity to swing in the other day. It had been about 10 months since my last visit. And they remembered how I like my order made. You just can't ask for better service than that. The owner makes you feel at home even when she's at her busiest. My only complaint about this shop is that it's too far away from my home. Go...

Really nice, roadside dinner atmosphere with super friendly staff.

The subs were delicious, however the portions were on the smaller side. I did see the pizza get served to another table, and although the couple sitting there devoured it quickly and seemingly happily, it did not appear very appetizing to me personally.

Nevertheless, my wife discussed this in detail in regards to 4 or 5 stars, and decided that as a lunch, quick meal or for those who're conscious of eating smaller portions, this place is close to perfect.

I'll eat lunch here again, soon. But, I'll hit somewhere...
