Half Pint Creamery - New Oxford — Restaurant in Oxford Township

When I found out this place was opening, I so was in heaven. And it is only 2 mins from my house. I'm in there quite often not only buying for myself but frineds and the pups too. Last time I left the bill was over $.40.00. Nothing like supporting local businesses. However, I was disappointed the last time I went in. I was inquiring about their variety pack ice cream sandwiches and one of my favorite HPC employees was explaining to me how the variety packs work and the ordering process and out of nowhere another employee barges in and completely interrupts the conversation and tells me that I have to pick one flavor for all the ice cream sandwiches. Well that is not what the previous employee was explaining and that is not how your variety ice cream sandwiches come sooo, how is it a paying customer cannot choose the variety pack they want, understanding that it may take a couple of days before my order will be ready? That turned me off, as Ive never dealt with the intruding employee therefore she has no idea how often I frequent their establishment nor the amount of money I spend in their store. Customer relationships make or break a business, so before telling me what I can't do, try finding out the level of loyalty one has to your business and help make their inquiries and orders as smooth as possible.

Ice cream is usually a subjective thing, depending on the person or tolerance to things like dairy products. Interestingly enough, even those folks who may be lactose-intolerant seem to handle Half Pint's awesome selections most of the time. Every time we've visited, the staff have been super-friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and willing to heap up quite the fresh-baked waffle cone with your preference of about thirty different flavors. There are your old standards, but there are some spectacular treats each week, as well. If you hunger for a fresh dessert that sings with joy (albeit, not literally), then I suggest stopping in to one of their locations. They have so many great flavor choices and it can be hard to pick one. My husband had the lemon poppyseed and I ordered the turtle (which is butter pecan with gobs of caramel). Both were so good and creamy! I thought the little waffle cone piece in the bowl was a nice touch. And the gals serving were helpful, polite and always seemed to be smiling even with a long line. It also didn't seem to take long to get through the line because the girls kept things moving quickly.
