The tour operator cancelled the tour at 9 PM the night before we were supposed to go and then didn’t have the decency to contact me personally on my cell phone. Terrible service. Then I get this rant after I complained on Trip advisor. A simple I’m sorry would have sufficed. Don’t blame me for your communication issues.
Sorry it’s the customer responsibility to fulfill their end of the agreement and contact the office with a simple text message to establish contact. Just like other companies we don’t chase down our customers the day before the reservation because of cellular service and travel situations. We need responsible and aware people out on the water so our groups and guides aren’t babysitting out in the wilderness. Please have better understanding of this requirement for your next tour adventure as all participants have requirements. Wingman_ready it’s not that difficult to communicate with the office and it’s very important for safety reasons because of the condo in the fall. Communications should be done during business hours not at 9 PM. You admit to having made communication after business hours, shows how unreasonable and unrealistic you approached this commitment. Reasonable people will see that you contacted the business phone after 9 PM and not closing before 5. You are placing blame of “horrible service” but you failed to uphold your participation agreement so looking in the mirror you fit the mold of a horrible customer. We are sure you are a great person but you just lacked preparedness. We avoid the mold of horrible customers for product quality and wear and tear on our employees. Sorry you couldn’t respect a small business and our policies without flying off with a misleading and negative review, shows you have yet to fully mature and humble yourself around God. Peace be with you and may you find success in your journey with the lord and reduce your sins moving forward. We did send an email about the cancellation weeks before your tour as you tried to book a November tour in October and assumed weather conditions would be ok. Please don’t assume next time in the fall as it shows you lack experience and understanding of conditions. Have a good day.
Phew! What a narcissist! I’m glad now we didn’t go on a tour with this company this person had an overinflated ego and references God to prove a point. Horrible customer...
Read moreMy daughter, 10 yr old granddaughter, and I (3 generations) just returned from a March trip to south-central Utah. We spent the first day and a half paddling Lake Powell. Since my daughter and I are experienced kayak paddlers and wanted to go at our own pace, we did not want to go on a tour. As I researched the low water situation at Lake Powell, I found that access to water was difficult and limited, and that most companies which rented kayaks only would do so as part of a tour. Fortunately, I came across Sean's Paddle Express company. I initially called him, and he confirmed that he rented sit-in kayaks, a much better option for staying dry and on course during the wind and chop of the shoulder season than the sit-on-tops that many of the companies rent. He also not only confirmed that we would not need to be on a tour in order to rent kayaks, but also then suggested a plan that surpassed our hopes for being able to paddle both Antelope Canyon for our first day and Wahweap Bay (where we would be camping) the next day.
Sean was consistently prompt and very informative. He not only made sure that we would be informed about our directions, but safe in terms of getting back before the strong afternoon winds. He even upgraded our kayak rentals to ones that would better handle the March winds. He offered suggestions about places to explore while we were in the area during our off-kayak time. He filled us in on much of the history of the area, geology, background history regarding the low water situation, and more. He placed himself at our service, in case we wanted to fit in a sunset paddle if the winds died down. To my surprise, Sean did not just leave the kayaks with us for us to move and load ourselves between the start of our rental time and the end the next day. Instead he met us each time we returned to the launch and then delivered them the next time we wanted to use them. This was no easy task as these were heavy kayaks, and because of the historically low water, the access to the shoreline was often a long, steep, loose gravelly route down to the water.
At the end of our last paddle, Sean even left us with a gift. He took photos of Wahweap Bay as we paddled back in, and even a short video of my final approach back...

I feel obligated to share the horrifying experience my family had during a kayak tour with this company. One of their tour guides, SEAN, acted in a way that was not only negligent but also cruel and deeply offensive.
During our return from the tour, my 16-year-old sister fell into the water after being transferred to another boat — something the staff witnessed and said nothing about. She was visibly exhausted, struggling to get back on the kayak in open water, with boats passing by. We were all encouraging her in Portuguese, shouting, “vai, você consegue!” (“you can do it!”). When a boat of strangers approached to help, SEAN told them “they don’t belong here” and that we were just being “too emotional.”
Let me be clear: my sister is a minor, in distress, in the middle of the lake, and this guide mocked our concern and did NOTHING to help.
When my mother asked for help, SEAN replied:
“Your daughter already caused too much trouble.” “There’s nothing I can do.” “I’m concerned about the kayak, not her.”
Yes — he literally said that, multiple times:
“I’m concerned about the kayak, not her.”
He even body-shamed my sister, calling her fat in front of us.
We paddled another 20 minutes, emotionally destroyed, while the person whose job is to keep people safe and supported watched and judged us instead.
This was not just bad service — it was a complete failure of human decency, safety standards, and professionalism. If you care about your family’s well-being, especially children, stay far away from this company.
I would give zero stars if I could.

Please read the negative reviews before booking a tour with this company. Sean constantly calls his clients LIARS. Are we all really lying? Look at the way he responds to customers and draw your own conclusions.
In my personal experience, this company has the WORST customer service I’ve ever seen. They never take accountability for their mistakes — instead, they gaslight and disrespect the very people who trusted them.
May God bless your hearts. I truly hope you grow — not only as a business, but as human beings....
