iVACAZ - Pagosa on the Golf — Local services in Pagosa Springs

I booked one night at this place, expecting to be given check in instructions as promised in the booking details and in my confirmation from priceline. Three hours later, without any communication from the property, I tried to locate the place, which apparently is a converted garage behind the owner's house, in an unplowed residential neighborhood. No lights on, driveway inaccessible due to snow accumulation and nobody answering phone number listed. As I'd booked through priceline, I was expecting a hotel, not someone's back yard. Their listings online across various platforms are incredibly misleading and some amenities offered are downright lies (casino, on site restaurant, free breakfast, 24 hour security, etc). When I was unable to reach the property on my own, I contacted priceline who was met with the same silence when they called the host. Because I was 20 minutes past their designated check in time and was given no check in instructions as promised, (which I believe was done on purpose), I was not eligible for a refund, per the property's ridiculous policies. I have attempted to contact this property again, but have gotten no reply, nor have priceline or booking.com, who handled the reservation. If you book this place, know that you have a 4.5 hour window to check in, provided that they give you proper information to do so, you will be staying in a converted garage, and the amenities listed are mostly rubbish. Good luck reaching the hosts if anything goes awry and forget getting refunded for anything, even if they're the ones who have caused the cancellation. The whole process renting a room with this establishment has been downright amazing. There are three different rooms, in a very nice home on the golf course. I got the downstairs one with a patio off the back of the residence. I really don't know what else people could ask for as far as a lodging experience. Fabie, the owner lady, (very french!) and her son Elan are super friendly and hospitable. Very affordable compared to a lot of the other offerings in the area. I make no promises for your stay, but I even got to taste some of Fabie's delicious cooking last night for dinner. I would definitely recommend this to others as a great option to stay while you're in the springs. It's about 3 to 5 minutes off of 160. Very close to just about everything in town. About 10 minutes away from the springs. And for those of you who care about an outstanding shower experience. Let me tell you what, the shower in the downstairs unit has three different heads that you can point at yourself all at once, I didn't know I would enjoy that so much, haha. Long story short you decide to go with Fabie and her team, I'm pretty sure you'll have an outstanding experience as well. We booked this rental for one night while passing through Pagosa Springs. Reviews of this property are excellent, so we were very surprised by our bad experience. Driving up to the property, the front yard was not welcoming with junk scattered around. We were greeted by 3 off leash dogs, while friendly were jumping on us. We were surprised to learn the room we rented is essentially just a downstairs room connected to the host’s home. This wasn’t a deal breaker at first, but when we settled in, the host started blasting music from the main house. We brought our 2 dogs on the road trip and paid a pet fee for the room. The host suggested leaving our dogs outside with his dogs with property shock collars & when we declined he said he would come into our room if our dogs barked while we were at lunch. The combination of loud music, lack of privacy, and a smell of cigarettes was enough to turn us away. Overall a weird experience, both my husband and I got a bad vibe about the place. Would...
