Just wanted to take a moment to shout out Palmetto Pharmacy and the incredible team there — especially Emily and Joey the pharmacist — for going above and beyond for our family this week.

My in-laws are coming to town next week for an extended stay, and my father-in-law needed a specific prescription that most pharmacies don’t carry. Over the last few weeks, they’ve been strung along by several large chain pharmacies — CVS, Walgreens, Walmart — all of which said they could get the medication in but never followed through. It’s been incredibly stressful preparing for travel without any clear answers.

I made one call to Palmetto Pharmacy, and Emily and Joey immediately stepped in to help. They arranged to have the medication overnighted, offered to price match the big-name pharmacies, and handled everything with speed and genuine care. My mother-in-law said she finally felt a huge sense of relief knowing the prescription would be ready before they even arrived.

This is just another reason why supporting local pharmacies matters. Palmetto isn’t just a place to pick up meds — they’re a part of the community. They show up, they care, and they make a real difference.

Growing up in the Midwest, I actually have many fond memories of taking trips to our local pharmacy, right down to the "penny" candy. Imagine our surprise and delight when we discovered Palmetto Pharmacy, not to mention it's literally walking distance from our house, like two blocks! Believe all the hype, I'm here to tell you it's both true and well deserved! Mr. Joey as well as the entire staff absolutely go above and beyond ever since we've started there (shout-out to Ms. Nancy, she's the best!) But what made me loyal for life happened rather recently. Back in January when we had real snow, I ended up landing in a ditch on the way home from work and wrecking my car. Our youngest needed her medication still, and when my wife called explaining what had happened, Mr. Joey drove from home in that weather, just to open the store so Emma could still be taken care of. This pharmacy is a nice little family owned pharmacy I have found. Joey the owner is super friendly and his staff are also super friendly and very awesome to work with. They take time to get to know and help their customers and make sure they meet our needs before we leave. It is very important to me that my pharmacist get to know me and my children because we have alot of meds we have to take .
