For a small place, they do a great job. No seating for dine-in, which is fine. My complaint is that they got my order wrong and the portion was small for the price - I ordered red enchiladas and they gave me green enchiladas. I did not check before I left because he told me that the box was super full of sauce, and I was happy with that. It was the wrong sauce… and was not full. For $14, I truly expected a lot more food. The enchiladas were very small, but very tasty. There was barely sufficient sauce… and was not at all “really full” like he said. The salsa verde para enchiladas was pretty amazing, though. I have to give them credit for that.
They could also upgrade their cheese enchilada to a better cheese that stays melted longer. Pretty sure it was just standard mozzarella. It wasn’t terrible, though. Just not great.
I “might” back to try something else … maybe… but the price is pretty prohibitive. Your 2 sides are really tiny, too. It comes in a to-go box, which is fine…. But I just really expect a lot more for $14 (no drink). This place’s taste is indeed authentic, but you can get so much more food for so much less $$$ if you go to a really good Tex-mex place. You also get chips and salsa with Tex-mex. I know chips and salsa are not technically authentic, but I like good food at a good price. The refried beans and rice were also nothing to write home about. Pretty standard flavors for this part of the country.
They have room for improvement, but I do enjoy the simple,...
Read moreI went to a fiesta-themed birthday party a couple of weeks ago. They had the MOST DELICIOUS tortilla chips that I have ever tasted...REAL. AUTHENTIC. TORTILLA. CHIPS. The host told me that they were from a local place called "Lucy's" in Palmetto. I CAN'T BELIEVE that I've never heard of it before!?! Finally I was in the neighborhood on Friday night...I had a long day and was wanting takeout. The person that answered the phone was so helpful, kind, and patient...carefully going over allll the options that I was interested in. I mentioned that I was going to splurge for the large order of chips because it was my birthday...I completed my order a b.d headed that way. I arrived to pickup my to go order...This was when I was TRULY OVERWHELMED by their kindness. I had ordered over $20 worth of food...A veggie burrito, cheese dip, guacamole, and large order of chips. The precious owner, Brian, came out to speak with me and insisted that my food was on the house. Now imagine, they don't know me from Adam...I have never had the privilege of dining at their establishment before now...And they were SO GENEROUS for my birthday! I am still in AWE of their kind gesture. And you can TASTE THE LOVE in every bite. SO DELICIOUS!!! I cant wait to help spread the word about this little gem! And I look forward to eating at Lucy's for years to come! Do yourself a favor and try this magical little...
Read moreThis is my first negative review ever. I feel if it helps one person not eat here it's worth it.
This was THE most disappointing Mexican establishment I've ever had the displeasure of eating at. First the tortilla chips were greasy as hell they were literally wet with grease. I had the chicken quesadilla for my entree. Never have I eaten such a bland item in my life. It comes packed with rice, tomatoes, guacamole, and whatever else. Not a single item in it had any flavor. I honestly left half of it to throw away because that's the best place for it the trash! The best part it was $10 by far the most expensive quesadilla I've ever purchased and it was garbage.
The eating area (if you can call three small tables in the front of what looks like an old auto parts store) is small, dirty, and depressing. Calling this place a dive would be too kind.... I wish I took photos of how dismal this place and...
