I felt the need to review the Sinkhole in reference to an incident that occurred on 3/1/24. Food, drinks were good and servers were all friendly. Other patrons, not so much. While enjoying ourselves another customer came up to my husband, who is African American (I am white), telling him that he would be afraid of him in the parking lot, so since he doesn’t want to get mugged, proceeded to hand my husband his wallet and before walking away rubbed his hair. Yes, you read that correctly! First thought, who is this guy and does my husband know him? Second thought are you freaking kidding me?! Time went by and my husband had a chat with this person & recommended he apologize to me, as I was upset. That should have been the end of it. Later a few others joined us and we were chatting about how 28+ years ago my husband tried to set me up with a friend. We were having a good laugh about it, when the wife of the guy who touched my husband, interjected about how we can talk about that, but her husband gets talked to about what he did. Quite some time had passed. Was I still upset about the racist, inappropriate incident, you bet your butt. Did I yell at her? Yes! Was I loud while explaining what her husband did? Yes. If she didn’t know what this was about why did she say anything. There are things that you don’t say, especially to people you don’t know. And you DO NOT TOUCH OTHER PEOPLE. Especially a Black person’s hair. There is no room for that ignorance. The bartenders and servers at the Sinkhole were amazing, understanding and acted just how I hoped they would. Thank you to the staff for their...
Read more3 strikes and your out. We used to love this place. Through change of owners and everything. Tonight we ordered nachos with their "house made queso." No cheese anywhere to be found. Not a strand, shred, anywhere. There was something gross that our server said was the cheese. She was very new, very sweet, so we decided to let it go. Some kind of mayo based southwest sauce was what she said was the cheese. Saloon sauce maybe, but certainly NOT cheese. We ordered the beef nachos. The beef was ripped up burgers. Absolute rip off at $16.00. Husband ordered saloon burger w/bacon and fried egg. Bacon was mushy and severely undercooked. Egg was hard as a rock. I ordered the caprese flatbread. Overcooked the crap out of the flatbread. Unedible. To drink I asked for what years ago was their famous painkiller. Asked server to confirm that bartender knew the recipe, bartender assured she did. It too was just awful. Tasted nothing like the longstanding standard recipe for a Pain Killer. My very first Painkiller was at the Sinkhole saloon and brought us back until change of owner. It has just gone downhill since. Sad. Nice venue, great location, poor management. If it wasn't for bowlers not sure it...
Read moreStopped around 1045pm or so on Saturday night. The hours say open until midnight. The front doors were locked so we went in thru bowling alley where we were greeted warmly and told yes, the saloon was open. After waiting at the window for several minutes waiting for the bar tender to stop talking long enough to see us let alone serve us. We were told at 10:55pm that they were CLOSED. Or getting ready to close and no we couldn't be seated or come in. If your hours are posted until midnight, then you STAY OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT . If you want your kitchen to close earlier than midnight, then you also state that that the kitchen closes at 11:30 p.m. or whatever it is! So we drove out of our way to go to a bar that we thought was open only to find out that it was actually closed. False advertising sucks and no I...
