I needed four items on a Saturday night but before heading over to Ace I checked their site to see what time it closed. The site said 7. I got there around 5:55 and was greated by a man who asked me what I needed. I told him and he showed me to an aisle. The lights then went out. He walked off saying he was going to see if they were going to turn the lights back. As I was trying to find my first item a man, I believe his name was Ben, came and rudely told me they were closing. Of course this was a surprise to me because the site said they were supposed to be open another hour. I told him about the site and it would take me just a few minutes to find my items. He continued to hound me. I finally found my items in the dark and checked out. The lady who checked me out was very friendly but then Ben decided to follow me out to my car and started yelling and arguing with me. The woman had to come out and tell him to leave me alone. It was crazy how unprofessional he was and how he treated a customer. There was no apology about the hours on the website; just “we’ve been trying to get that fixed”. This is the place to go for excellent service from knowledgeable sales staff!!! I came in with looking for a specific bit for my hammer drill and was not very optimistic at finding it here, do to the other stores not even carrying it. Immediately I was greeted by James and told him he probably didn’t carry the bit, but was driving by so I figured I’d stop and check. James smiled and said “ Absolutely I have one, follow me sir.” He walked me straight to the SDS bit section and handed me the right bit, that the Big Box stores didn’t even comprehend. He also showed me a new Bosch Hammer drill which had a better motor than the one I already own . He explained the unique features and was very knowledgeable about his products. Once I saw the sign of an Ace Hardware, I had to visit. I am a Home Repair Person by trade and like to visit local Hardware Stores. This was a GEM to visit. An astonishing array of about anything you can imagine you might need for your home repair, boat maintenance, yard & garden, and some things that are just a must have for living along the coastal area. My favorite spot in the store was there huge 50% off room. I always love a bargain. I went into the store to just look around and came out with $125+ of bargains from the 50% off room. It isn't a small room either. Must be at least 45'x50' of all types of mark down items, overstock, older items left from previous sales. You have to see it to understand the values there!
