I arrived at this hotel a little after 6pm on Thursday. The gave me room 409. When I arrived in the room it stuck. It had a urine smell and it smelled wet. I went down and explained to front desk. She wanted to put me I. Room 402. I explained to her that all the odd numbers are with an ocean view. She explained that the computer said other wise. I went to room to 402 to find out the room faces the street. When back down to front desk to tell her it did not have ocean view it was the street. She put me in room 311. Come to find out it was a double bed room. I went down stairs to front seat and asked will I be compensated? Because this is not what I ordered. She went to the back to call manager she came back and said they was not answering but did leave a message. She explained to me as soon as she hears something she will let me know.
I went to the room to pull covers back I found a bug and blood on the comforter. So this required me to sleep in the other bed. When I pulled the covers back on that bed ai found a hanger under the sheets.
Next morning I explained to the manager about the bug and comforter. She blows it off and said oh that’s an ant I have those. I said I want to get compensated for my troubles. I said I ordered a King suite with an ocean view. She replies it’s really not an ocean view. She said let’s go find you a room. One room was double the other was on the 3rd floor next door to mine. Come to find out it had been slept in. She said we will have it ready and cleans for you later. The Rachel Sawyer flight will be in later and I will have a talk with her. She is supposed to be the General Manger of the hotel.
The next day after lunch I approached the manager asked did she get a hold of the General Manager. She said she did and they won’t compensate me because I said the room smelled like wet dog and there is no dogs allowed in the building. So I ended up staying in the room and she the manager never told me my other King Suite was ready.
As a member I feel the situation was mishandled and if I was not Black they would have treated me better.
I would like to give this hotel all zeroes and tell ones this is not the hotel to stay at.
This is what they emailed me

Read moreIf you are looking for a brand new hotel that you can smell the new carpet, this is it. It may not be right on the beach, but you can see the beach from a room on the back side. The price is much better too so you can spend more money on other things like food, drinks, entertainment, or beach stuff. You will also find a great indoor shooting range just across the street. I was met by the assistant manager when I checked in at 3 pm. to find my room ready and assigned after making a reservation 30 minutes beforehand walking along the beach. I need to give a shout-out to Anne at the central reservation for not only taking care of my needs at the last minute but also going above and beyond. As I pulled in off a main highway, the outside of the hotel was in pristine condition, very manicure landscaping. Then I walked in the front doors to see warm, comfy, bright colors and modern decor. I was a little taken back because Choice Hotels are usually not this nice, but this is the new bold look I approve. My room was huge with lots of space with a California king bed. There was a seating area and couch with a working desk. I loved my room so clean, modern , bright colors, comfy , new smell. The only negative thing for this hotel is the breakfast. I have a gluten allergy, so staying at Choice Hotels can be difficult. As you can see, I could only eat eggs, yogurt, sausage, apple, and drink. The choice of brand cheerios is wheat. Why not buy the real cheerios that are gluten free. Next, why have grits that have wheat as well. I wish the hotel brand and hotel owners would take action to help the large number of people and kids with a growing population of gluten allergy eat well at breakfast in their hotels. Other than breakfast, I absolutely loved this hotel. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely Would I stay here again? Absolutely
Don't take my word for it . Go see...
