I really wanted to love my hair, but unfortunately I left super disappointedāand out nearly $300. Brittany was kind enough to offer a fix, but even after going back, it still didnāt turn out right. I didnāt feel comfortable going in a third time, so I ended up putting color over it myself just to make it look somewhat even. The biggest issue now is the damageāmy hair is breaking like crazy, snapping when I brush it, and the ends are just fried. I could hear my hair snapping while they were āpullingā (more like yanking) the foils out. The whole reason I went to a salon was to avoid this kind of damage in the first place, especially with lightening. Just really bummed with how everything turned out.
Update a couple months later: Iām honestly still extremely upset about this, I canāt believe how damaged my hair is from this place. I havenāt bleached my hair myself in probably 2 years but I couldāve done a much better job myself. My hair was finally healthy and now when I look in the mirror all I see is damage and split ends. Uneven lightening that Iām going to have to spend more money to fix myself and cause further damage to my hair. I should have gotten my money back for this because this is actually insane. Also the salon owner had such mean girl energy, talking trash on clients and the overall vibe was just super uncomfortable. Iāll never go to another salon ever again, if someone is going to mess up my hair it will be me š Iām astonished that she was okay with letting me leave with my hair like this, $240 later plus a $50...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently moved to Parkesburg PA, and found Salon Boninu. They have a great online appointment booking tool that made it super easy to schedule an appointment. My first appointment, I saw Heather. I walked in with an absolutely horrible haircut from a salon in MD that needed serious help. It was so horrible (lop sided, chunk of hair missing in the back, a ledge on one side and none on the other, the center back was so short it almost looked shaved), I dreaded going to work. Heather assessed my cut and put a plan together to get me back to normal, two cuts to get back to a layered angled bob. She trimmed my hair and when she was done, it was FANTASTIC! I walked out so happy and my hair was even. My second cut with Heather, my hair had grown out enough to get the angle back. Another awesome cut. My third visit, I wanted to go from coppery auburn to a merlot color. She showed me hair color swatches and we picked out a color. It covered grey 100% (I have about 30 to 40% grey), it was vibrant and beautiful, and hasn't faded. Heather is a fantastic stylist and going to Salon Boninu is a fun and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI haven't had a home hair salon since we moved to this area in 2017, so recently I started looking for one. Salon Boninu attracted me initially due to the interior of the salon itself. It looked bright, modern & welcoming & most importantly, it was locally-owned. Setting up an appointment was a breeze, I did it thru their website. Once I arrived for my appointment, I was cheerfully greeted & immediately taken to get started. I shared my ideas with my stylist but also let her know that she was the boss of the cut. If something I want is not going to work or be unattractive, my stylist gets to overrule my ideas. She hit it out of the park! I love my new haircut and look forward to returning when it needs a trim & for additional services. In short, Salon Boninu has an upbeat friendly vibe & backs it up with...
