Westlake Ace Hardware — Local services in Parkville

Will not be returning. Today I noticed this store was there, saw they had a pet sectionand was super excited! Went in with my girlfriend to browse, we picked up a few things and wandered around to look. About 2 minutes after being in the store one of the employees started following us.. like, INCREDIBLY obviously. We didn’t think much of it until she later started following us in circles to the point where we could not ignore it. My girlfriend turned around and asked her why she was following us and she stuttered out “I’m organizing the store as I go!” We asked her why she needed to organize directly behind us and she said the same thing again. We sat our items down on the shelf and told here there was something for her to organize. Extremely unprofessional, creepy and rude, I don’t know what the point of following 2 young girls around a store like that would be. We were very creeped out and disturbed, very disappointed with our visit and we will not be returning. We will be contacting the manager as well, neither of us feel that was appropriate behavior in the slightest. I went in there at 7:15 to buy some plants from the garden center plants the store doesn't close till 8 but as soon as I walked in the man stops me and tells me that they don't sell plants after 7:15 and 7:15 is the time they stop selling plants. Which made no sense to me Why wouldn't you want business when you stop 45 minutes left till you close I already knew what plants I wanted and I already Seeing that they had them from the outside when I parked my vehicle.. I used to work for a Westlake Ace Hardware and I worked in the garden center and I didn't ever And would have never refused a sale to somebody When we still How did another 45 minutes of business open till we close this was an absolute lie and he just wanted to close early! I will never go back to this store because of that and I will tell all my friends never to go to this store because of that. Attempted to price match item previously done at vivion road location with no issues over the phone. I went to Parkville location to do the same on price matching a similar competitor and they said they needed a picture of product and price. (No online product pricing for competitor) I asked if they could call other competitor and verify product price and they said they couldn't do it and wasnt valid. Very unfortunate. They give 5 dollar off coupons all the time but there prices are at least that high or higher especially on Wing Dust Rubs and other bbq related items.
