The Home Store — Local services in Parsons

If I could put 2.5 stars, that's what I would have selected. I had seen previous poor installations by this store and was leery of using them for granite/quartz installation. My cabinet builder suggested they had improved and I made the mistake of trusting him. Their products are a little over-priced compared to area competitors. They came out to measure with a fancy laser measuring tablet that managed to mis-measure one of the cabinets 3" too short. That caused an extra seam that I didn't want. The installation was a mess with large gaps between the countertop and cabinets and uneven overhangs (1.25" on one side vs. 0.25" on the other!) In all fairness, they did come right back out and un-installed the countertops and then re-installed them correctly. After a little trimming, the gaps and overhangs were all corrected. Fortunately for them I am covering one wall where the countertop ends with rock so I'm able to hide their 3/4" gap in that location. All and all, sloppy and careless installation that did eventually result in a job that I was satisfied with. The store told me the installer has worked for them for 7 years. My experience with The Home Store was great. They completely redid our main level flooring with a combination of engineered hardwood, tile, and carpet. They also installed granite countertops and tile backsplash in the kitchen. All the store staff was great to work with and even put up with my seemingly never ending changing decisions with a smile! All installers were professional and took care to do a good job. In fact, the granite installation team descended like an army, pulled out the old countertops, and installed the new ones in an amazingly short amount of time. Of course you could probably go out of town somewhere and get the job done cheaper, but I am willing to pay a little premium to deal with a locally owned business. Home store is a scam. $3900 for drafting and design literally all they did. And i had most of the design for them so it was just drafting. No measure no home visits. Literally just us going to them. They didnt tell me the deposit was going to be spent right away and when we backed out due to complications they only refunded us $6700 out of 18k what a ripoff of a business. $3900 what a joke.
