Hobby lobby does customer service like very few places in the industry today. I remember opening this store I think in 19/20 I know it was before COVID hit. Anyway the way you are trained is key to making sure your customers receive excellent customer service and they do it right. HBL makes sure you know where items are so you can pretty much assist anyone who comes your way. They assign certain people to departments so when you are in need of specific help you are directed to someone who knows their department and knows it well enough to help you. I like that this store still is implementing the core values of keeping customers happy. The products are so so. You get what you pay for and the "craft" things, paint, paint brushes, pencils, crafting supplies is all fairly good. The home decor things I feel aren't made for "long term". Every other week they have 50% off home decor, one week will be the "wall hanging" items and the next will be "table top decor", so basically if you like a "collection" in the home decor dept find out which week is what and buy accordingly. Seriously, since I've known about HBL(starting from their grand opening) the sale is constantly ongoing. If your patient enough you can sometimes get the "seasonal" items up to 75%off. Warning though, if you really LOVE something, especially seasonal items, get them when you see them, HBL DOES NOT store extra items in the back or anything like that, usually with seasonal what's out is what's out and there is no guarantee it'll be sent on the next truck so when dealing with seasonal items, buy when you can. Most of the other departments though they get same items each week. Just ask an employee though, most are extremely helpful and won't...
Read moreThis complaint was for the Richie highway location. This is really a warning if you have a return so you do not feel embarrassed or harassed as I did tonight.
I had a return upon entering store I immediately got in the return line like any other store in maryland with a register that says returns and exchanges only. After waiting 5 mins I was told by an employee sending people to line. I couldn't enter this line i had to wait in the regular check out line. He than walked my husband and I to the cut through to enter the check out line that wrapped around the back of the store. I told him I only had a return again told me "Your not supposed enter the store and get immediately in the return line you have to wait like everyone else". No sign anywhere to indicate this is what is expected when you have a return.
Waited in the check out line, my turn came up to enter a line but I couldn't enter just any line I had to wait for the original line I was in that can take returns. So the employee started taking people in front of me while a waited in the regular check out line to get in line for the return register, that is currently being used for regular check out too. This was completely stupid and a waste to time. The sign above the register said returns and exchanges not check out. I did indicate my unhappiness to the return counter employee she didn't seem to care. I will be returning the rest of my order this week and will go to Michael's for my craft needs...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Hobby Lobby. When I walked in I was expecting something more on the lines of Michael's or A.C.Moore. What I walked into was more like a Disney World---not Land---of hobbies and leisure time projects PLUS! I was overwhelmed!! I rarely voice "Wow!" when I enter a store but I did HERE!!! In fact, I was so overwhelmed that I didn't take any pictures at all! Next time I shall. I promise. This new Hobby Lobby has [comparatively] an extensive section/selection of plastic model kits, something I have not seen for years. M'Lady says of the jewelry making section, "Fabulously full of beautiful and fun stuff!" They have lots of nostalgia items for home decor, as well as huge, fun clocks. Some of which look like giant pocket watches. With effort I picked one up and thinking of a certain fun costume, I exclaimed, "I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!" In fact, the only thing it seems they don't have is theatrical make-up and personal prop items for cosplay, school plays, and maybe...
