Bob Evans — Restaurant in Maryland

Over the past year the service and food quality have gone way downhill. When we eat from here it is always breakfast on the weekend, ordered online, for pickup. Even with our growing disappointment with every visit, we still kept going back with the hopes it would be as good as it was in the beginning. Today marks the last straw. When my husband went in to pick it up he was rudely greeted by the lady at the register with "It's an hour wait for a table and 30-40 minutes for takeout. We have 2 orders ready." Well one of those 2 orders was ours. My eggs were over cooked. My home fries were cold, which I found strange because the rest of my meal wasn't. The portion of the home fries was extremely small. So small, that before opening the container I wasn't sure there were any in there at all. Unfortunately my mind immediately went to the thought that because they were so busy I got what another customer didn't eat. Once home, we realized they forgot the pancakes (yes, our fault for not checking the bag before leaving). Because of the long wait time, we decided not to go back. Not to mention the food was so bad it wouldn't have been worth the time or gas. I don't feel that calling to complain would be of any benefit either. They just don't care. There may be some good servers there, but the majority of the employees I have dealt with are rude, dismissive and don't seem to care if they please the customer or not. Possibly the second to worse experience I have ever had in a restaurant. We could tell the waitress was new because the normally delicious hot chocolate was missing the whipped cream. When we mentioned it to the waitress she gave us a funny look and walked away. We thought she was bringing it to the table or new ones. Well, no, she ignored it. Then we noticed that the hot chocolate was really watery. She gave us another weird look and said OK I'll being new ones. Well, 20 minutes later, we had to go to the manager and finally after another 10 minutes they arrived. Sometimes the simplest of things are the most important. We had ordered a couple of food items and they came shortly after the hot chocolate . But all in all, it was too long. Too long because my salad was yet another 15 minutes. The other 2 with food had finished theirs, and there I was trying to eat. My daughter in my 4 year old top the restroom. Upon her return, she told us one of the employees hadn't washed her jambs after coming out of the stall. How disgusting. On the way out, I mentioned all of this very discretely to the manager. He didn't even say he was sorry. He didn't offer to change the bill vice us vouchers or anything. By the way, we had already paid the bill. The saddest thing was he didn't seem apologetic at all. I certainly do not recommend this Bob Evans. Inconsistency and a non apologetic attitude was not acceptable. We will simply go...

The only plus to my experience was that we were seated almost immediately. Once seated, however, it was an overall horrible experience. Our waitress literally came to our table every 10 seconds requesting our order. At one point, she stood at the empty table directly behind us, while my family had a conversation, waiting for us to be ready to order. Each order came out at different times. The children were finished eating before my mother ever got her meal, which was only a burger and fries, so nothing that should have taken so long. Then, when my mother opened her wrapped silver wear to use it, there was old, encrusted food all over the fork and knife. When we brought it to the attention of the waitress, she took it without a single apology and never even brought a replacement. While still eating dinner, the waitress comes over to state "would you just like the check now sinve you're probably not getting dessert?". Horrible, horrible service! We were, in fact, planning on having dessert as we were there as an early birthday dinner for my 11 year old. The food, thankfully, was not bad. Overall, however, the experience was completely horrendous and we will never return. I understand now how we were seated so quickly. It's because nobody wants to eat there so the place was...
