Fr. Jack Custer of St Michael The Archangel found my great-grandmother’s baptismal record which has been very difficult for me to find. Fr. Custer also very graciously sent me a sincere and informative letter explaining details of my family which neither I nor any of my living relatives ever knew. In the letter, Fr. Jack let me know the exact village my great-great-grandparents were from in modern-day Poland. He also explained the unique spellings used for my great-grandmother and her parents’ names in the baptismal record. The spellings were very different from the English form, and the names were written in a combination of Latin, Polish, Russian and Hungarian.
