St. Joseph’s University Medical Center: Emergency Room — Local services in Paterson

The worst place to take a Child ... I was there yesterday at 8 pm with my son with a fever of 103.6 and strong pains I was assisted by a girl to register and take pressure in minutes, they waited for me at 9:30 my son got stronger his pain and fever and explained what happens to the girl who took my blood pressure and gave me 2 Tylenol (which is the funniest since I had told him I was almost 24 hours giving him medication at home to reduce fever and I had no results) and then they told me that I had to wait ... I was there waiting until 12:55 am and they didn't give me the assistance, I was very desperate waiting for someone who in 3 hours did not attend me ... it was the most desperate for me, to see my son in this way ...

El peor lugar para llevar un Niño...estuve allí ayer a las 8 de la noche con mi hijo con unas fiebres de 103.6 y unos dolores fuertes me asistieron para registrarle y tomar presión en minutos, me hicieron esperar y a las 9:30 mi hijo se le puso más fuerte su dolor y la fiebre y le explico lo qué pasa a la chica que me le tomo la presión de la sangre y me dio 2 Tylenol ( lo cual es lo más chistoso ya que le había dicho que llevaba casi 24 horas dándole en casa medicamentos para bajar fiebre y no tenía ningún resultado) y luego me dice que debe esperar..... estuve allí esperando hasta las 12:55am y no me dieron la asistencia, estuve muy desesperado esperando a alguien que en 3 horas no me asistió... fue lo más desesperante para mi, ver a mi hijo de...

Was @ the emergency room a while waiting in the front for really back panic attacks/anxiety I suffer from over ten years and I had the best RN Nurse Robert aka Robby he made me feel calm listened and so nice best nurse ever please give him a raise we need kind nurses like him in this cold world he even distracted me while drawing my blood cuz I hate needles and I freak out worst then a child and he was done taking my blood n distracted me by talking to me and I didn’t even notice the needle or feel anything such a caring kind warm person nurse Robby !! ! Thanks Ill give him 10 stars if I can !Also RN Alex nurse Frankie was very helpful kind caring as well ! Dr Catapuro is the best Er Doc!He gave me all the medications I needed asap and didn’t make me wait I had a great experience dealing with these Er night shift staff all deserve raises and 10 stars I really appreciate people...

I had a great experience at Saint Joseph’s. The cardiac care unit is the best I have been in, in a long time. The doctors and nurses and medical people and maintenance people all work together as one. The nurses are knowledgeable the doctors are caring and knowledgeable the people that come in to check your temperature care, and they do the little things to ensure that your stay there Is top notch. Everyone is courteous, they ask your permission to touch you, and a very respectful of your privacy. If you should ever get into this unit, your family members will have nothing to worry about. You will have to make sure that they have your correct information when you go through the door at the emergency room. My only issue was the medication that they said they was going to call in to the pharmacy was not called in and I had to go through and wait till that was completed from leaving...
