This was a disappointing experience. First I waited several days to be seen. Then the guy didn't even look at our washer in depth (and not near long enough) before telling us we'd need a new drain pump and charging us $100 for the consult. I was told they'd need to order the part from Sacramento for $160+ tax and I'd have to wait a few more days for it to get here. Adding labor, he said our total would be almost $400, which is about what we paid for the whole unit just a couple years ago, brand new. I looked the part up online and found it for $15!!! I ordered the part myself and decided to try replacing it on my own to save the $153+ tax in labor that it would cost to have him come back. Turns out, a shoe lace had gotten into the drain pump causing it to cease up. Pulled it out and it worked fine again!! He could have given a few minutes of effort to actually look at our machine (sense we paid $100 for him to come see it) and saved us both a LOT of money and several more days of waiting. But, in the end I'm grateful because I now feel empowered to fix a future issue with our drain pump if needed. We didn't even have to replace the part so we now have a replacement part on hand for the future. Definitely will go straight to YouTube next time before calling a repair place. If I had not looked up the part and seen that something was not right, I would have been robbed by this company. Sad that others will probably be taken advantage of who don't look into it more. Bummer. I don't like leaving bad reviews but they have a place and purpose. Hopefully this will help someone else...
Read moreThese guys are awful. We had John come out and try to fix our ice maker/dispenser. After he was done "fixing" our ice maker/dispenser the water would only dispense 50% of the time. He told us our home warranty wouldn't cover it until it was 100% broken. We decided to trust him and sure enough the problem got worse over the next couple of months and he wouldn't warranty his work. I called our home warranty and they said that they would have covered it if we had called them or if John would have called them. Our fault for trusting John.
These guys only warranty their work for 30 days for a reason. When I pay for something to be fixed I expect it to be fixed right the first time. When I called and talked with John, he wanted to argue and talk the whole time instead of talking it out.
Cons:
He had to defrost our ice maker using a heat gun but had to borrow our shop vac to suck all the water out. He didn't even clean out the shop vac when he was done. He just left it.
John was full of lies. He would tell us one thing and then tell us another. He was very rude and defensive when I called him to find out what's going on
Warranty. I expect a fix to last longer than a few months. However, It was never fixed correctly to begin with. He put a band-aid on it but never fixed the root problem.
Hard to get a hold of
Pros:
He was nice at first He was punctual
My recommendations for this company: Take responsibility for your work and what you tell your customers. Don't assume a homeowners warranty won't cover a problem until you talk with them first. Own up to...
Read moreJohn Grammer diagnosed my fridge in the initial visit and ordered the circuit board and defrost timer (?) to replace the bad ones. He let me know I had one of the brands that had a robust compressor that would last a while, so it might be worthwhile to try and maintain this one rather than buy a new one. The repair was costly - around $580 - but not as costly as the $2400 fridge I had on order that I learned had one of the cheap Chinese made compressors that would go our an a few years. He said the compressor in my Amana fridge is only found in commercial fridges now. He showed me how to clean and maintain it so it will last longer. I fired up my portable air compressor and blew all the fuzz off the heat exchange coils like he said to do every 6 months, to keep it...
