Peculiar Games and Hobbies — Local services in Peculiar

This peculiar store is a gem amongst game and hobby stores. Definitely worth checking out, even if its a bit of a drive.

Starting with the store itself they pack a lot into a little space. Seriously, the owner and/or one or more of its employees must be a master at Tetris. While it may not have every game ever there's still an amazing selection of games and if you don't keep a sharp eye while in the isles you may just miss something.

As for a room to play games in that is also smaller than some other game stores but certainly decent considering the small town the store is located in. Not a doubt in my mind that it probably gets a bit crowded on the weekends though.

When it comes to the staff I've got no complaints at all. They were friendly and knowledgeable and took time to answer questions and even chat it up with my wife and I for a bit.

At the end of the day Peculiar Games and Hobbies is a great game and hobby store that I hope to see around for decades to come. If you live in southeast KC or anywhere else near it it should certainly be your go-to game and hobby shop. If you live farther north or east of it then, much like a certain cheese shop in Osceola Missouri, it should be considered a routine stopping point on your way to or back from the Ozarks or Branson. This place is absolutely awesome a great place to hang out and play games, the staff are all amazing and helpful. They also have pretty good deals overall on most products and hold regular events for many different games that are very fun to participate in

Edit: if I could update my review to contain more stars I would every one there staff and customers alike are some of the best people I have ever know the store owner is probably the most generous man I have had the pleasure of meeting. Last night when my car broke down in the parking lot he helped to jumpstart it when that failed he was so kind to give a ride and on top of it he refused to take some money for his troubles all he said was "no I can't take that, use it to buy yourself something at the store and we will call it even" I am and will be forever grateful to him please if you have not visited yet do yourself the favor of stopping by for a few game you will meet some phenomenal people words (or a star rating cannot come close to describing the greatness of this store and the community...

Giving 5 stars because that’s what the store deserves, however the owners seem to cave to social pressure for no reason, obviously. Taking the side of someone who’s supported them for years, only the next day for them to turn around and cave to social pressure from someone who has never supported them, and are never going to support them. Completely discouraging someone I love from ever gaming again. Very disappointed that this person, let’s call him J, is completely turned off to gaming all because a friend / store owner / and awesome gaming place all in one flip flopped over night.
