I was referred here by a friend who had a good experience. I bought my wedding dress last summer. It was a size too small and I was planning on losing weight. I was assured that Gail would be able to let out the dress to fit me. It is now a year later, 4 appointments later, and 2 weeks away from my wedding. The dress was still not close to being finished last week (3 weeks from my wedding) so I told them I wanted to pick up my dress and let someone else fix it because I was not waiting a week before my wedding (our next scheduled appointment) to see whether Gail had fixed it. I took it to another seamstress who told me Gail never let the dress out, not only did she not fix the hem but it was cut irregularly and crooked, the slit Gail put in it did not line up on each layer of the skirt and was crooked and mangled like she cut pieces out, there was a ripped seam on the train, and I found stains on the dress. Fortunately the dress is not completely ruined and is salvageable but very close to needing to find another dress and I am TWO WEEKS AWAY FROM MY WEDDING. I am extremely disappointed in Gail. Please, if you buy a dress from here, FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO ALTER IT. Two stars only because Gail has a pleasant...
Read moreI had my wedding dress altered here in 2016 and I purchased by prom gown here back in 2009. Each time, I was more than satisfied with my purchase!
Gail, the owner, is always so helpful, sweet and courteous - I highly recommend her shop to any thrift-savvy brides! They carry many high-end dresses that you can purchases for a fraction of the retail cost.
As a side note, because the business is doing so well, they are frequently very, very busy. If you have serious alterations you need to make to your gown and you're set on having Gail and Gail alone do them, schedule an appointment with plenty of time in advance. She has occasionally outsourced to other local seamstresses, depending on the turn-around time you're looking for on your garment.
Dresses marked up to $1,000 dollars in store could be yours for as low as $100 (depending on a number of factors, of course.) My advice to you? Save your self some cash and still look radiant on your...
Read moreI cannot say enough about the women of Country Threads Bridal; from the courteous and welcoming vibe when walking in, to the personalized service, to their consideration and care to details and their ability to match your body type to size by looking at you! I walked into their shop, just days before my wedding (on Tuesday with a wedding Saturday) due to a previous trailer malfunction and they found me a dress that had been sold to their shop on consignment, perfect fit to my body, and height! It was a miracle and a dream come true! I felt blessed to walk into their shop! Gail was kind, gave me a deal and offered a complimentary bustle due to my panic and ordeal (I had traveled from Colorado to Pennsylvania without a dress that could zip). Thank god for these ladies, truly saved my wedding!!! Thank you Country...
