Asian Market — Local services in Peoria

There are so few Asian/Vietnamese represented markets in the city, but this one does come through. Yes it is Small. Yes there is little parking, but... YES there are a lot of items to choose from. Great place to get any items that you may be missing in order to help make that authentic meal back at home. There are also instant items as well as a large foray of imported drinks/snacks/cookies for you to choose from. The spices were quite decent and impressive that they have it in stock.

The only draw back since this is in the middle of IL is that there is a lack of fresh produce (veggies/fruits) as well as fresh fish/meats.

If you can understand the limitations of those items above, the rest of the supermarket is superb and its shelves are full for your choosing.

Please help out your local business as the Asian community stories are in dire need of some...

Well, like other such ethnic stores, it's clearly for 'regulars' who probably shop here regularly and know where everything is and what it costs. Foe the very occasional shopper, though, things are not always grouped together and probably most have no price label on the product or the shelf. There can be language issues. BUT the selection is large, and the refrigerated / frozen section of the store is an entire, separate side of the building, with all kinds of produce and products you're simply not going to find elsewhere. I would shop here often, sometimes once a week. At one point they eliminated bags completely and wanted you to bring your own bags. Terrible idea. Now they have some bags at the checkout that you bag your groceries yourself. The younger Asian woman that usually runs the register is really rude and inconsiderate. I've noticed the people working here rarely interact with you as a customer and are not helpful. Many of the prices are not even displayed so it's a surprise when you checkout how much the item is.
