I have been searching for a new muzzleloader and discovered that the Walmart (Store #5115 3101 W Kimberly Rd, Davenport IA 52806) showed they had two in stock so I called to verify my Intel. They informed me that their system shows two (2) in stock and available to purchase so I changed my schedule for today and drove the 200 miles there. Unfortunately I drove to the wrong Walmart at first, the one on Elmore, but the staff were understanding and helpful to get me on the right track.
I arrived at the correct Walmart and asked about the muzzleloader seeing there wasn't one on display. I provided them the UPC and they verified their inventory system showed two in stock.
Twenty or so minutes later, three staff came back from their search with nothing in hand. A manager named James basically informed me that somehow someone had mislabeled their firearms and had attached the Traditions tags to another muzzleloader but one that was at least ten times the price of the one I just drove more than three hours and 200 miles to purchase.
Now firearms are suppose to be handled according to federal law and misplacing several of these muzzleloaders blew me away as the guidelines and the laws are pretty strict and delineated. But that is this particular Walmart's problem...
Now James discussed how it was and the like but I never heard an apology in his comments or responses AND I did bring up the fact that I had called, been informed they had two, drove the 200 miles over a three+ hour journey and it was my tough luck. No apology (IMHO). No offer of a gas card. And when I asked if they had a alternative/substitution, I was told he can't reduce the price of any firearm or he would be fired - he said this to me in front of two other Walmart staff.
Now I was also going to buy other items at this Walmart, including an ammo box of 9MM for my son but after this fiasco, I decided to shop elsewhere.
While an alternative/substitution would have been nice - if not appropriate - and some form of compensation is always appreciated but to not even get the words "I am sorry for this "on behalf of our store is....well, pretty sad and I was not happy to say the least.
Now I understand mistakes happen but I had tried to avoid them by calling to confirm in advance only to discover that either I was lied to and/or this Walmart's inventory is seriously out of wack - with firearms under the ATF jurisdiction.
In the last month I bought a TV that wasn't what I paid for (someone substituted a 65" broken screen, dented frame, cheap TV for an expensive one I had paid for. But you know what? That stores manager profusely apologized (when I didn't even claim it was Walmart's fault and where my ire was focussed on the perpetrator) AND provided me with a newer, better replacement selling for twice what I paid for. I will definitely recommend that store but cannot the Walmart #5115 after what I have experienced...
Read moreI am a veteran of the US Army. We have a program called where care in the Community.there are no co-pays on the office visit and the perspcription is to be free. I had to go to a Peoria Urgent Care to get treated for a spider bite on my finger. The visit went well but due to the late hour and it being a Sunday I could not get the prescription filled I had the prescription sent to this Walmart on university street in Peoria Illinois. Today I went to pick up the prescription. They want $ 5.75 .for what is supposed to be a zero dollar no cost prescription. The lady who I spoke to was rude and was more worried about her lunch. She refused to call the phone number for Care in the Community. She tells me come back in a hour and pulls the security barrier down. I don't have a hour. So I call care in the community and I find out my options. I try to file a complaint with the store manager but I get the loss prevention manager who tries to be helpful but really don't want to help all she says is I can't do anything about pharmacies co-pays. I try again to explain it to her but she is unable to understand this simple fact. It's supposed to be easy quick and NO COST to Veterans who use this program. I now have to wait till Thursday to get my antibiotics because I have no way to the VA clinic to pick up the prescription. My finger hurts like hell it swollen three tines the normal size and turning dark blue. Thank you walmart for being most Definitely veteran unfriendly. I am calling for a boycott of this Walmart asking the VA to remove this Walmart store from its list of preferred providers. Robert S. Tomlinson...
Read moreAuto shop manager Lane was extremely unprofessional prior to entering and exiting Walmart property. Was told while entering auto shop door that i needed to have "auto services done to enter" in such a very rude manner. I don't know if this guy was having a bad day but he definately took it out on me. After telling him that i would not be spending my money at this Walmart auto shop because of his unprofessional demeanor he refused to unlock the door so that i could exit. Told me that i had to walk completely around the front all the way to the back of the store to get to my vehicle. I didn't try to check out back at the auto cashier station just simply wanted to leave because he seemed super irritated with me and it was to the point where it was disrespectful. I asked for his first and last name, he gave me his first name but refused his last name when i told him i was filing a complaint. Then he began to back track and try to apologize and tried blaming everything on covid 19 all the while not having any face covering or a mask on at all. I don't want this guy fired but maybe retrained on being professional with customers instead of rude and disrespectful because your an auto shop manager and...
