Berkot's Super Food market at the very least looks as innocent as the small village of just over 4,000 that it inhabits. While we all know that every small town has its secrets, you will be either pleased .... or horrified... to know that the town of Peotone, IL, is of no exception. The inhabitants of this town go clueless as every year more and more of passerby's and even some its own inhabitants go missing.... and are never heard from again. Police are baffled by the strange disappearances and are absolutely dumbfounded as to where the bodies of strangers and loved ones have gone to... Well, my fellow google review readers, let me shine some light on the true activities that go on behind the scenes of Peotone's own little Berkot's Super Foods. On both the outside and the inside it seems like a harmless and even harmonious market that you would expect to see in a small town, but as we all know... looks can be deceiving. Berkots is known for their deli, the delicious, mouth savoring meats that are produced with the highest quality. But what most people don't know is that what they think are cuts from beef and ham, the very pink, ground up burger they are purchasing ... is not all that it seems. In fact, it's a malicious trick to cover up their true motives. Berkots brings a whole new meaning to the term mystery meat as it is the result of what goes on behind the scenes. In the back of the store, behind soundproof walls and an underground cellar, one will find the evidence of locked up victims, or maybe even find them... if it's not to late. My friend and I were on a road trip heading to the west coast when we rolled in through the quaint town of Peotone. Needing a break from our trip we pulled up to Berkots to stretch and buy more snack foods for the road. Collecting an assortment of chips and other processed foods that were not good for me I continued to the cash register where a young boy, about my age named Jake, checked me out... my items, I mean. As I was paying I hadn't the slightest idea that the face I was looking at was the prodigy of death. Upon returning to our car we saw that the tires had been slashed. We continued to call someone to tow our car, and with a damper on our adventurous spirits, looked for a place to relax for the day. When night fell, the horror began. Bored from nothing to do all day, we walked the empty streets of Peotone, unaware of the disappearances in the area. I will never forget the feeling of being watched, the feeling someone was following you, only to realize it was true and that they were coming. I remember running with my friend as, fast as we could. But somehow we weren't fast enough. The next thing I remember was waking up in a dark room, muffled cries, and choked breathes surrounded me in the dark.A faint chopping sound came from the distance and gravel like grinding, persisted by screams of fear and agony. Everyone cowered in the dark. One by one, all in a line the people around me disappeared until they came for me. Dragging my flailing body across the floor I was brought into a bright room and was momentarily blinded. When the dark spots slipped away, I wish they would come back. In this room body parts littered the floor and blood seeped through the cracks on the floor and splatters on the wall, there seemed to not be any place in this room that wasn't covered in blood. Across the room freshly ground human burger was being packaged and sealed. The horror and uncertainty of my surroundings left me momentarily frozen as they began to pick me up and move me to a table. The stench was gagging me and I knew I had to escape. The details of my escape were almost as horrific as the actions of the Berkot's Super Foods store and I will not recall the details of what actually happened. All you must know is do not trust Berkot's and do not eat from their deli. The monstrosities that have been produced by there deli could never be repaid. And do NOT eat the award winning chicken... it's...
Read moreI'm going to guess there is new mngmnt. Because there seems to be new products coming in and variety for children, which is great. The one complaint I have and it's a pretty BIG one is Ashley in the deli. I am honestly surprised I don't see more people complaining about her. She is just about THE RUDEST worker I have EVER EVER came across in my 40 years of living. At any place I've visited. I get it's hard to find good workers but at this point I'd rather have a slow worker than one that absolutely hates her job and is rude to the customers just trying to get their daily grocery shopping done. On SEVERAL occasions before 7 she is throwing full pans of chicken out and her excuse is "there was hardley any left" I was in there once to get chicken all the pans were FULL and went back 10 min later to grab more at 6:25 she said "oh the chicken was sticking to the pan" no the reality is every time she works magically before 7 the chicken is gone and didn't offer to make any just walked away doing her famous eye roll. She acts like it's a chore to take anyone's order literally huffing and puffing while rolling her eyes saying "anything else, anything else" when that's in fact her job title. If she has to slice meat watch out because she will do it all on one blade without wiping it down for the next selection of meat.. She talks about other co workers while customers are standing there. She talks about customers while customers are standimg there. She tells other employees to take care of the counter so she can stand in the back and slam things around like she's working harder than anyone else. Her attitude towards the female manager cashier has been rude. Every time I go in there which is often and I see she is working I can almost guarantee she will be complaining or mad about something. To the point really want to record her just to show how ridiculous her attitude is. It's actually unbelievable.. If you don't like your "4 year job" (which I have no clue who would keep her that long) then find another one. Your roll is customer service and you have NONE. ZERO personable traits. She really needs to be fires because although I don't see a review about her on here everyone knows who the miserable...
Read moreI don’t even want to give this 1 star!!!!! I was just in the deli (7/4 @ 10:50am) and ordered 4 ham and cheese deli sandwiches. First of all we started off telling him what we wanted and as we started he asked if we could just write down our order because he was busy. Honestly, I didn’t really mind this part but then it took over 30 minutes of us waiting for these sandwiches. People were walking up, ordering, and getting their order fulfilled all while we were still waiting for our sandwiches. Not sure why we had to wait this long for 4 simple sandwiches? I can tell you there were about 4-5 of them behind the counter and doing more talking instead of their job. I did t say anything until 30 minutes went by because at that point it’s just ridiculous! The guy was extremely rude and told us they are busy because of the 4th of July. I get it’s busy but that is still absolutely no reason to wait that long for 4 sandwiches!!!! Especially when they were fulfilling everyone else’s orders that were after us! Seems like sandwiches must be a hassle for them 🤔 This is the second occurrence for a bad experience at this deli. Last time my catering order was not made for a party I was having. I called days prior to order and my guests were waiting on food!!! I’ve lived in Peotone for over 30 years and have not experienced it this bad ever! Not sure what’s going on but what a shame! Will definitely be going...
