I just shopped at Fareway in Perry, Iowa today. The ads for this week had a lot of items I use, & the sale prices were great - ie. fresh strawberries-2 1lb. Pks. $4, also fresh blueberries-same price. There was one item that was either sold out, or didn't arrive at the store. I asked if they were offering a substitute, & one of the cashier's gladly offered an equal substitute. Another cashier offered an explanation of a grouping of items in the sale ad that I had misunderstood. The guy who took my groceries to my vehicle was friendly, & chatted with me as he always does.    Read moreI live in another county and was reluctant to grocery shop in Perry because of the high number of COVID 19 cases in Dallas Co.. I decided to go to Fareway before I left town. SO disappointed in Fareway. Only 1/2 employees wearing masks. I quickly paid for my few items. There were 2 carry out people nearby. One was a male about 40-50 years of age. The other was a female , late teens, early 20s. Neither wearing masks. The Male asked if I wanted help carrying my items out. I politely said ,"No, thank you. You're not wearing a mask." Not only did I find three brands on sale but I was so impressed with the level of energy and encouragement that my checkout clerk showed.
