TIN PIG - Perry, IA - THIS PLACE WAS GREAT! We’ve never been, driven past a few times and it always looked closed, but we were thrilled to find out it is open and delicious! They were great with my service dog, too (although we stayed so long he got a lil tooooo comfortable!). Pretzel Bites: w/ queso: average. Would’ve preferred other dipping sauces but no biggy. It was still good. Crab Rangoon flatbread: was AWESOME! All the right flavors combined, we ordered this one as a shareable appetizer, and everyone enjoyed it (even the one that assumed he wouldn’t). Buffalo chicken wrap: not chintzy at all, this was loaded and delish. More than half the meal came home. Buffalo had a touch of heat and this wrap wasn’t soggy, as so many end up becoming. Tenderloin: good gravy this is a large tenderloin! About a minute or two overcooked though, but surprisingly still good! Definitely would have been amazing taken out just a bit sooner. Also came home with half of this beast! Smoked BBQ turkey sandwich w/ house salad: he says it was fantastic, and very juicy. House salad great. Cowboy Cobb salad: too many onions (I like onions but it was overwhelming). I should’ve scraped some off but didn’t. Toppings were great and loved the ranch dressing! Brought most of it home. May add some lettuce so it’s not so “oniony” 😜 Excellent service! We loved the atmosphere, service, vibe, and can’t wait to make our way thru this menu!! — at Tin Pig Tavern.

Stopped in for lunch after completing 52 miles of biking on the Raccoon River Valley Trail. I still had 20 more miles of biking ahead of me to finish the day. We opted to sit in the outdoor patio area, which was well maintained and offered plenty of shade. This was my first time here so I briefly went inside to check out the interior. It appears to be well decorated and has a nice atmosphere. The service and food were good. No complaints from me or others in my party. I normally would order comfort food, but opted for a chef salad with fried chicken strips instead. The salad portion was good and had plenty of other toppings as well. I appreciated the ability to pay and tip my server via scanning a QR code on the receipt. Payment process was easy and quick. I would certainly be willing to stop here again sometime if I'm in the area.

I wish there was a star heading for "depandability". I would give them a solid 2.5 stars for that. Everything else is 4, 5 stars hands down. The 2 Taylor's and Abby were always attentive and bubbly, and super sweet. My team and I joked with them. The nachos are insanely good!!! The craft beer needs a little more UMMMMMMPPPPPFFFFFF! I'm a beer nerd.....grew up in the hop capital of THE world....and this craft beer is a little "watered down" for my oberpfälzer (look this word up if you don't grasp it) hop and malz palet. Honestly....4.75☆'s. Being closed more than 1.25 days a week is blasphemy! Literally to the beer gods!!! "••••Uahnah gait nó.......Uahnah gait no nei"▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎ look that one up too!!!

An honest review from someone who appreciates unique spaces, great service and amazing food. If you seek the same, here’s what you can expect from your experience while visiting the Tin Pig Tavern in Perry, Iowa. Ambiance. Initially, the character of this place will be the primary focus of your visit. It has too many visual gems to mention in a simple patron review such as this. Exterior, interior, brewery or restaurant, it doesn’t make a difference as this place has it all. Mark my words, riders on the High Trestle Trail and the Raccoon River Valley Trail will set their sights on this place over all others for its character alone. The custom made bar most certainly deserves a special visit as the entire thing (taps, bar top, etc.) is the most unique and beautiful I’ve ever seen. It’s my favorite conversation piece in the entire place....narrowly edging out the tin ceiling, brick walls and hardwood floors (all of which are both gorgeous and original). The slightly hidden saw marks, forever gouged into the floor from a table saw mishap during construction, is a neat thing to look for when ordering your favorite adult beverage from the bar. Staff. You’ll be catered to by a friendly, capable and attentive staff. From the hosts, to the servers and even occasional visits from the owners themselves, you’ll feel at home and know your business is very much appreciated. The bartenders ensure that rapport is built and your beverage of choice is promptly served nice and cold while the back-end/kitchen staff prides themselves on making sure you’re elated with the choice you make for lunch or dinner. Food. It’s excellent. The menu will cater to just about every craving you can imagine and you’ll most likely leave with thoughts of what you’ll want to try on your next visit. From appetizers to the main course, the generous portions seem both inspired and delectable. Again, too many choices to mention in this review but I can say from experience that the burgers are absolutely mouth-watering. The Sheffer’s have been successfully doing this for so long that serving delicious food has simply become second nature to them. I hope you find this review helpful. Don’t forget to look for those fun saw marks near...

I have to say the place is good at what they do , well for me , so I've had the I think it was the " Piggy Burger " good meat and toppings but the bread was not substantial enough to support the toppings . Hey what do I know because maybe this is a theme with them ,(I noticed several well like two I guess that were beard smothered things) , anyways The Pig is really mostly sandwiches anyway. I guess they might fix you like a three meat plate but most likely nah a sandwich but probably a good one. The Piggy is great and the ham is more like bacon , the Carolina pork thing with the coleslaw , ( coal/) haha, appetite , anyways pulled pork and slaw , good deal , ..Nice place good atmosphere the only reason I am not on five stars yet is because I have not been there enough times yet ,. Bam but I've been everywhere Man , and nah I am no wearing the black. Oh geez I almost forgot my wife got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans , uhhh ,they tasted like unwashed green beans cooked in dirty water , hey maybe this was just our portion but like I said I haven't been here enough times but really shouldn't ever time be good ...
