A local Chinese buffet in Perry. It's not a large Buffet but all of the items on the buffet are very tasty. My favorite is the peanut butter chicken. The dinner menu has more additions of seafood including shrimp but not crab legs.
The review above was five stars. The review I'm doing now is only one star. Explanation as follows:
I reviewed this buffet in October of 2016. Obviously things have changed since then. My wife and I went in for lunch at 2:35. We ate our lunch and when I went to pay I noticed the check was more than it normally would be for lunch. I asked the person behind the counter why and she said it was dinner. I told her I came in for lunch not for dinner. After going back and forth on the price and whether it was dinner or lunch she gave me the lunch price. I asked her when dinner started and she said at 3: 30. I asked her how she could charge for dinner when it wasn't even dinner time yet. She said that she put dinner items on the buffet. I said that is not my problem it isn't dinner yet. Not good...
Read moreIt breaks my heart to do this to a restaurant that has been my favorite place for over 10 years. I’ve heard that there are new owners, so maybe that’s why the quality of food is so drastically different. I live 35 minutes away, but I make it a point to pick up food when I visit family.
I’m used to getting food that’s been sitting awhile. In the past even the old stuff was satisfying to me. The peanut chicken is dry as ** now. Where’s that beautiful sauce the chicken used to soak in? My favorite thing is garbage now. I went to get the pepper chicken and it was very different. Instead of the smaller pieces that were so good, it was big chunks of pepper chicken. When I tasted it I immediately spit it out. If I ever go back, I won’t even touch the pepper chicken again. The rest of the food was disappointing as well, and it kills me.
Whoever is making this food needs to call up the old owners and ask for pointers because the food sucks now.
Little bit weird to see children...
Read moreOrdered off the menu to go as nothing on the buffet seemed appealing. Should have been my clue to walk out the door. This was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten in my life. Not sure what was given, but it was NOT chicken fried rice. Only made with weird dark yellow rice that rubbed color onto the bland rubbery pieces of chicken. No egg, vegetables or seasoning. Tasted horrible - had no flavor. The broccoli beef wasn’t much better - old, discolored broccoli with tough pieces of meat in a watery sauce. Tasteless. The hours old white rice was taken from the crock on the buffet - not fresh or fluffy. The dumplings were cold and rubbery. While I concede the portions were large, the $38 charged on a non itemized bill seemed steep and didn’t align with the pricing on the outdated paper menu ($24 total) on the counter. Definitely not worth the money paid. Will never go there again - so...
