Pattee Cafe — Restaurant in Perry

Pattee Cafe is in the historic Hotel Pattee in Perry, Iowa . I came here to try the Eggs Benedict. My one star review is based solely on the Eggs Benedict. I have a "top ten" list for these. After our visit I could not rate it even in the top 30. My rating is based on 3 weights : 70% = taste 20% = presentation 10% = price With that in mind : 70% = taste: Hollandaise was tasteless & runny. Hash browns were awful (see picture) Asked for easy, soft poached eggs. Had to send back to correct. Could not eat the Hash browns. The English muffin was toasted but soggy. 20% = presentation: hard to describe (see picture) 10% = price: over priced. NOW WITH THAT SAID : The chef came out and talked with us about the meal. He apologized for the Benedicts and said that he is not a breakfast cook and not used to cooking it. We discussed and critiqued the "Bennys" . He said they are a new management and still working on the menu. We will give them some time and try it again later on.

My wife and I have been to the Cafe many of times for breakfast and lunch but had dinner for the first time last night. The service has always been very good and last night was no exception.
